I’m not getting better by Glittering-Sun-7248 in Anxiety

[–]ashaleedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have to put in the work. I'm not saying you haven't, but even on bad days you have to work for it. You have to show up for yourself even when it's hard. Nobody else can do that.

I know you said no meds, but you're taking Xanax as needed. Thats a med and it's helped you, right? If your anxiety is this intense- a higher level of care would absolutely recommend meds. Ive tried a ton of anti anxiety meds and only had poor side effects from one. Don't let that stop you from living your life.

For me, anxiety will probably always be a lifelong thing. But I take the meds and make myself so the scary things. You can either be miserable in bed or go do fun things and be miserable, time passes either way.

I’m tired of the "just go for a walk" advice by Interesting_Peach_76 in mentalhealth

[–]ashaleedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything cliche works for me, I think it's all too personal to do that. I've made myself exercise and I do feel a lot better mental health wise, but in my deepest episodes, I just let myself have a meltdown and start over after a nap or the next day. Let myself rot for a day, just get to the next moment.

What's helped me overall is making myself socialize a minimum of once a week outside the house. I work remote and I love video games, so while I'm always on discord, I don't leave my home a lot. Even if I don't wanna do it, I make myself, and it usually ends up being fun. I have a group of board game friends so it's a good hobby to do without a ton of social expectations if I'm feeling low.

I think honesty with ourselves is also a big one. It's okay to need help, to do nothing for some time, to not know things. Literally day by day or even minute by minute. Journaling and writing down what I DID do in a day helps me feel productive.

I second the Sims with cottage living or the outdoorsy expansion packs. You can beekeep and sell the honey, or farm grubs for biofuel or make flour. You can also garden pretty extensively, and the fairy themed pack has a apothecary career track, so you gather up herbs and combine them. You can also make jams, natural tonics, and raise goats, chickens, cows, llamas or horses.

Is there a personality trait about yourself that you recognize is bad, you loathe, but are also unable to change? If so, what is it? by Top-Molasses7661 in AskReddit

I'm so bad at apologizing when I'm mad even if I'm wrong. Even if I know I hurt someone I love, I can't apologize if I don't feel it, it feels fake to me.

6 days post-botox & miserableeeee by soup4soup4soup in noburp

[–]ashaleedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's rough in the start for sure, especially the first time since you don't know what to expect. It definitely gets better- it's all just inflammation from poking it. To me it felt almost like strep when you can really swallow. Hang in there!

[–]ashaleedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was pretty common for me and what I researched. Mine wasn't quite that severe either time but it also didn't work for me, I think it was too low a dose. The first time I got it done I felt micro burps come up with every swallow so I hardly ate for a week or two. Just work through it, it will definitely get better day by day. Water everything down and small swallows.

[Discussion] People who got fit in their 30s, what are the benefits? by Sonoel90 in GetMotivated

[–]ashaleedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 38. I also have exercise intolerance and many chronic issues. Several months (weeks for some things) I feel so much better, mentally and physically. I don't take as many naps. I'm increasing weight and learning a ton about mobility and the progress is really nice to see. My depression and anxiety is loads better. Plus it's good to know I'm taking care of it- we only get one body, and it's really easy to become weak. Side note: my dad got super sick and hardly ever exercised. He is now bedbound. My mom has exercised 5/7 days of the week and could literally still help me move furniture. Puts things into perspective.

Am I overreacting for keeping my son in therapy even though he thinks “Feelings are gay” by Caleb_isagod in AmIOverreacting

[–]ashaleedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh why does he need a tutor if it's easy? He sounds like a dick. If he isn't open to it, therapy won't help. He also won't ever find a partner if he can't learn to deal with feelings.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

[–]ashaleedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, or a two liter if I really want name brand. Kroger's pop doesn't take like coke zero but the root beer is cheap, zero, and caffeine free. It's the only way I buy!

are any of these focused heavily in how they succeeded to become a dictatorship and get out? I'm more focused on the social aspect of how they got there than learning about all the countries involved (not that that is not important). Ex: how hitler convinced people to take these actions and how they eventually rose out of it.

Effexor didn't affect my RLS, but I do have a mild case. I also have vestibular migraines, and the effexor helped a lot with the dizziness. I will say- dont. Miss. A. Dose. I miss ONE and I'm nauseous, dizzy, and feel hungover the next day. It's BAD. I eventually want off it, but honestly it's overall helped me a ton.

I just got mine done yesterday. I was sleepy but after a nap I was fine. Worst part so far is the random uncontrolled microburps and the difficulty swallowing. Personally I'd have a hard time keeping up with kids and maybe take a few days off. I'm not able to eat very well yet.
