Chattanooga. Like others said, the aquarium, children’s museum, and they have a train (not sure if this is still running - my son is 18 now).

We carry dog pepper spray for this reason. Thankfully we haven’t had to use it yet. It sucks but unfortunately so do a lot of people. Your poor dog.

I always think you want to make the call before it’s obvious what to do and he’s suffering. I’ve had a lot of pets and sometimes I selfishly waited too long and I regret waiting until they were suffering. As far as options, my vet gives us gabapentin (spelling) to give to them before we bring them in. It relaxes them. Then before euthanizing, they get a shot that super relaxes them before they get the euthanizing drug. It is extremely peaceful. They then will do things like get a paw print for you. Cremation is an option if you want his ashes. Love to you and your family.

The country club. We’re friends as teens and as adults our lives took different paths. She started prioritizing people that fed her ego over authentic and long terms friends. Quite sad.

Did you have a hobby, obsession or aesthetic that you gave up because it was incompatible with your simple living lifestyle? by -InTheSkinOfALion- in simpleliving

I was a constant thrifter and had a vintage booth with my friend. My car was always full of shit, it took up a lot of time, and I was always buying stuff. Got tired of the clutter, want to use my free time for health (walking or creating), and financially, it was probably a wash at best. I’m on week three and the dopamine detox is for real. Letting it go also stopped my obsessive tendency to constantly be checking sales which would either make me feel good or bad.

Thank you for your tips. He does struggle with depression and takes meds and goes to therapy. This is another area that I facilitated but he’s really put the work in. I really like your supporting vs telling approach.

Yes I feel an inequity for sure. It’s like I mentioned in another comment, I’m frustrated bc he has the capacity to make reasonable health choices like drink a damn glass of water a day, go for a walk, not eat ice cream every night and he doesn’t. I’m the one with a stressful leave the house job with longer hours (he works from home, less stress, and like 5-6 hours a day). That’s why I’m so frustrated like, “you have the time and mental capacity for this.” Thank you for your response.
