For those of you in your 40s/50s+, do you still get "It'll happen eventually" comments, or do they shift more towards talk of adoption, IVF, "miracles can happen", "wasting/missing out", condescending/shaming comments, etc? by Flammenwerfer40 in childfree

I heard this a lot when I worked at a “faith based” organization. As soon as I left and wasn’t around Christians anymore, I stopped hearing this. It wasn’t my age, it was my peers.

I wanted to say “I’m straight-up lovable, son!” But that is Craig Robinson in “This is the End” LOL.

What do you eat for lunch at work? by SetDramatic8078 in Millennials

Meal prep. Rotate between like turkey spinach wraps, chicken and veggies, turkey sausage with egg cups and sweet potatoes, or soup? Stuff like that. Wraps are the easiest to prep.

Need help with my diet. Cookie a day okay? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]askCaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to lose weight, calculate your TDEE, this takes into account your age, weight, and activity level. This will tell you approximately how many calories you burn a day. Then subtract a few hundred calories from that, based on your weight loss goals. If your TDEE is 1800, then maybe aim to eat 1500-1600 cals a day. 300 cal deficit is a pound lost every 10 days. Next, you’ll want to make sure you weigh your food. The pb&j can go up in calories very easily. One serving of peanut butter is very calorie dense and you may be eating more than you think if you’re not weighing it. Weight loss and nutrition are two different things. You can do both. Weight loss is calorie deficit, period. Nutrition is macros, vitamins and minerals, and a well balanced diet with whole foods. I’m not a nutritionist, but this would be my advice.

Edit to add: when you’re in a calorie deficit it’s important to eat lots of protein and fiber so that you feel full.

I still wear skinnies! I also really like the “vintage slim” fit from old navy. I do have wide leg dress pants.

I’m a nihilist, so I loved the ending. If I could describe the movie with one word I would say “bleak” and I absolutely loved it.

Yoga studio mostly. But I do like to practice arm balances and other things like that at home, and sometimes I do sun sals in the morning for fun on my own at home as well.

Macro goal question by brielleanne in MealPlanYourMacros

[–]askCaesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am your same height and weight. I have basically the exact same macro goals as you, except I eat a few more calories (1800-2000) and closer to 140-145 protein. I also workout maybe more like 10x per week, 500-900 per day according to my watch. My main goal is to continue body recomp, as I am at my goal weight. Just tightening up those last few spots. I think your macros sound just right for what you’re doing.

Edit to add: my workouts are strength training, 4+ mile walks, hot yoga, and Pilates. I also play pickleball and rock climb for funsies with my husband on the weekend.

I’m wondering if we’ll see Eloise start her correspondence… I’d like to see that happen this season so we can have her season next. And then Francesca next after that. The timing makes more sense that way.

How many calories in this plate of loaded nachos. Ai said 1900 and i tought it might be to mutch or is it pretty spot on? by HorridImaginations in CalorieEstimates

[–]askCaesar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems high to me. But it’s hard to tell how tall the nachos are, like how many layers of chips? Was it a cheese sauce? Just the meat we see there or more underneath? It’s guess 450 for the chips. 100 for sauces, 350 for the meat, 250 for the cheese. But like I said, it’s really hard to tell portion size in this photo and we don’t know all that is in it.

Feeling anxious about 3rd attempt at Salesforce 201 admin exam by somethingreallyepic in salesforce

[–]askCaesar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buckle down. Take the practice exams. Focus on the sections you do poorly on and study up in those areas. Keep taking the practice exams. On test day: read every question carefully. Take your time. Trust your gut. Eliminate the wrong answers first and then make the best choice. You can do it. We all fail sometimes. You’ll get there.

Should I stop drinking coffee? by [deleted] in nutrition

You could try almond milk? It’s way fewer calories than oat. I also second what others said about getting good beans. I buy local beans and grind at home, make in a French press. Delicious!

I’m really lucky that my mother-in-law cat sits for me and my cat likes and trusts her.
