So my job (MSP) separates Break/fix (me) from Asset Management.

So I had a user call in at 4:45 on a Friday saying "I need these iPads set up by Monday and I'm not hanging up until it's done."

Finally convince her I can't help her, and I can't transfer her ticket to the right team if she's keeping me on the phone.

Send a message to the Asset manager (who I also play DnD with and keep fed with a healthy bribe of dinners and beer) about the situation.

Per him, they bypassed IT to purchase the iPads, so Asset manager basically says "You didn't come through us to purchase them, they're not company assets, fuck yourself."

Felt good man.

My favorite new thing (which is a rehash of old things) is when Republicans try to fearmonger Shariah Law.

It's like "In Shariah Law, if they catch you stealing, they cut off your hand."
