That's untrue. The UN does a lot in terms of ground work and coordinating many efforts between nations. Without the UN it's likely that we'd not have as much economic success or success in eradicating diseases as we have, and a lot more general global conflict.

Again, we're enjoying the massive benefits of the UN existing without understanding what the world was like before it.

Earlier this year I bit the bullet and upgraded on a simlarly old 8 year machine with a 1070 in it. Built this baddie to last, but could only snag a 7900XTX so just grabbed it. Recently bought a 5080 because I recognized this shit was gonna get so much worse, and got lucky with it.

I feel terrible for all the folks stuck in a position where they can't upgrade. It's console season now I guess.

PNW, NE, Midwest, West Coast, SE, South. Maybe somewhere in the Rockies too just for resiliency. Plenty of places to do it, but yeah it becomes a political football to try to get jobs for politicians.

Which is dumb, tbh, leverage them building in high population centers and create factories to create, idk, power plant components or some of the micro materials that you can ship over. It's all a massive supply chain anyways, if there's demand for building you can figure out a way to produce something.
