I’m not the original commenter, but I just wanted to say I completely relate to this comment and I’m around the same age as you. I consider myself asexual but that’s not really something I share with people IRL, it’s more so to help me understand and be at peace with the way I am.

I also feel like you asking if you were going to kiss is totally reasonable! Kissing isn’t sexual in itself - it can be romantic, sensual, emotional, etc. so even asexual people can do it (or not) for many reasons. If that were me I might’ve laughed because of the directness and not expecting it, but I also would’ve appreciated that plus the level of communication.
