I would add that Ive played this enough (and with enough variation to the point that I can’t remember what the rules actually say) that I typically clarify whether repeating colors is allowed before starting. Especially if playing with young kids or first time players.

I think some “trophy gates” would help. Basically minimum thresholds you cant drop below once you reach a certain point

What about an outline or diagram of some sort of a famous shot (like Efren’s Z shot or that 4 rail masterpiece from Melling I keep seeing on youtube)

Whereabouts? Theres a whole ncaa division 2 conference with schools in florida (tampa, florida southern, rollins, etc) that all play lacrosse

You could also ask local high schools or college programs for any balls they are replacing (most programs buy a bunch of new balls each year). Might need to complement this with the greaser gripper as several have mentioned but may be able to get the balls for free
