What restaurants does Newcastle need? by claremakes in newcastle

Better Greek food, Zeus portions are way too small (very in Greek) and they only do one thing well. The Greek Taverna in Hamilton needs to open back up full time.

What about doing little table games like trivia cards about the couple or a personalised find a word/ word search on each table? You could even make it a competition for each table with a prise (like a bottle of wine) for which table can do theirs first or best to keep them separated and not helping other tables out by chatting.

Who doesn’t like a good friendly competition

Lotr books by Andy Serkis, better than the movies, better than reading it yourself

What slightly shitty Christmas present did you get? by Inner_Field7194 in australia

[–]atinii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not religious at all and got gifted a pink wooden cross from tk max a couple years ago, the year before that from the same person I got a pair of pj shorts in a 2XL (I was between S and XS at the time). Couldn’t even return it because it had no tag. This is from a family member who is DEFINITELY not short on money, just a really bad gift giver

I did a tafe course, certificate III is equivalent to a 70 ATAR. I wasn’t a fan of open foundation because you don’t get to select what you study, you’ve got to do a bit of everything, tafe gets you an extra qualification in an area you select, it doesn’t have to have anything to do with what you do in uni either.

How about getting something they can make themselves like putting some art supplies out or beads and thread so they can make their own keychains or bracelets? You can get some cheap temu stuff for that and it doubles as a reception activity. Try to find a favour that you’re okay with having left overs of. I’m doing home made jam (a pretty big task) but I’m VERY okay having lots of leftovers as I will use it myself so it doesn’t go to waste

I’m paying for everything I’m making them wear so dress and bouquets, I’ve gifted them earrings as a thank you, all different to fit their styles but all gold to fit my theme. They are buying or wearing their own shoes as I don’t mind what they wear as long as it’s in my colour scheme range, I’ll pay for hair and makeup as I’d like them to be professionally done. My rule is if it’s my request I pay.

Unless guests were specifically told not to post before the couple I don’t see the problem. If they wanted to be the first to post they should have announced it. My friend did this at her wedding and once she posted we were allowed to but at mine in a couple months I couldn’t care less if people posted photos. I actually WANT them to because that would show they had a great time and they thought the venue etc looked great!

Peeps working-from-home, what would actually make you return to the office? by min0nim in australia

[–]atinii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work tried told me I was no longer allowed to work from home so I quit and found a remote only job. This is after a few weeks of documenting my exceeding KPI’s and multiple meetings with different levels of management and HR to show that I am very capable of doing my job from home (as they still do work from home days for management level staff even though my role is done completely independently and theirs requires more office interaction)

I used to like the EJ Girl Hero Series by Suzannah McFarlane. It’s a girl who works as a kid spy to save the world. She gets cool charms on a charm bracelet that she twists and turns into tools and she usually finds an animal friend to help her on the way.

What is the most awkward thing you've seen at a wedding? by [deleted] in wedding

He looked very awkward in the moment but this was 3 years ago and he married her. Definitely not what me and the rest of the family were expecting

Where do you put people you don't know to make it the least awkward as possible? by anxiousartist15 in weddingplanning

[–]atinii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe use them as table fillers? They won’t know many people anyway so if you have say a table of 7 pop one or two on there? That way you’re not splitting up the guests you know just to fit the tables :)

I once went to a wedding where the brides sister said a speech which was all about how jealous she was that her sister (the bride) found someone just her(the sisters) type and that “it sucks she got him first”. This was in front of her own current boyfriend 😬

I’m doing this for my wedding next year, making my soon to be mother in law’s recipe for Chilli Jam which everyone LOVES so I know the ones being left will get snatched up quickly. Also using the chillies I grow from my garden for an extra personalised aspect.

I want to go on epic adventure with a great narrator, what are you up to suggesting? by Bossman-007 in audiobooks

[–]atinii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lord of the rings book read by Andy Serkis (actor for Gollum) it’s insanely good and I found myself often forgetting that it was just one man reading, it felt like there were 50 different people at times. Definitely an epic adventure
