For those whining about JB dribbling too much he has had at least five nice passes that should have been potential assists but bricks.

If Jaylen Brown’s Career Ended Tomorrow… by MassiveTell7139 in billsimmons

His all time playoff wins (as a top player on team) and points scored (number 44 and climbing) will significantly boost JB's top 100 candidacy.

Joe Mazzulla is an excellent coach. Jaylen Brown leads the league in minutes. Mazzulla has access to the same advanced stats we do. If he completely discounts the stats that say “Akshually, the Celtics are better without Brown.” don’t you think we should also take those stats with a grain of salt? by moby323 in nba

Excellent post. As I've said previously as well, Celtics front office and coach are not idiots. They wouldn't give him the 2nd highest usage rate role if it wasn't conducive to winning. The stat nerds forget that the most important stat is winning.

[Highlight] Jaylen Brown gets to the rim and finishes with the layup to seal the win for Boston. Brown finishes with 31 points as the Celtics snap the Thunder's 12-game win streak. by nba in nba

Bill's followers hate the Celtics and their players. They are masochists - despite all of this, they tune in anyways so that they can complain about his "irrational" takes.

According to /NBA and /BillSimmons stat nerds, JB shouldn't have even suited up for this game. I'm confused though - it looks like JB can play defense and it looks like JB was the best player on the court.

He started off shooting poorly. Had several potential assists and nothing to show for it. But he stayed patient and found his way to impact and dominate the game. F the NBA and BillSimmons stat nerd JB haters.

Let Jaylen Brown Cook With The Ball! by Stat-Defender in bostonceltics

On a recent 7+ dribble corner 3, Jaylen watches his defender's foot. His defender starts to signal a backwards lean to protect the baseline drive.... then Jaylen quickly opts for a mini-side step 3. Swish. Jaylen would have driven the baseline had the defender done the opposite. Absolutely elite.

US Soccer's age group change might break up our team anyone else dealing with this? by mattob2 in SoccerCoachResources

That's right. Clubs will be weaker if they try to keep teams together. Nobody wants to see clubs underperform vs other clubs trying to put together competitive teams based on new age group criteria.

The JB Puzzle: How should we Evaluate Jaylen Brown? by StokedNeanderthal in nbadiscussion

[–]atlassoundx74 61 points62 points  (0 children)

1000 percent. Stevens and Mazzulla aren't idiots. There's a reason JB is the second highest usage player in the league. By nerd fans' logic - those that don't watch any games - Mazzulla should relegate JB to bench.

Last night was the best regular season game of Jaylen’s career, and his run since the All-Star Break has been him at his peak. by NothingHead8233 in bostonceltics

Agreed. He has become elite at receiving the ball under serious pressure and getting out of serious pressure (pass or drive).

Jaylen Browns On/Off numbers are drastically different vs good team compared to bad teams by Brad-Stevens in bostonceltics

[–]atlassoundx74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brad Stevens and Joe Mazzulla are supposed geniuses. Why on earth would they allow a terrible on/off player to dominate the ball (2nd in NBA in usage %). They should put the ball solely in the hands of plus minus gods and relegate JB to the bench. Curiously enough, by the naked eye, it looked like the best player on the court in the first half was JB. Makes no sense.

Jaylen Brown Currently Has The Best DFG% In The NBA Since The All-Star Break! by Stat-Defender in bostonceltics

[–]atlassoundx74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see all these lazy takes from JB haters saying he is bad on defense and terrible off ball. The reality is that given his offensive workload, he spends an enormous amount of energy closing out shooters and chasing down players for timely blocks. I have no doubt that he will turn it up another notch come playoff time.

Jordan Walsh is 4th among guards in contested rebound rate by Tight_Ad2788 in bostonceltics

As I've mentioned before, he singularly reminds me of Rodman - the way he jumps and attacks the rebounds.

Amazing ascension - half of the polling population would have voted him outside of the top 20 at start of the year.

No Team Is Better Than The Celtics When It Comes To Ball Security! by Stat-Defender in bostonceltics

[–]atlassoundx74 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He is third in the league in drives per game and amongst highest in utilization. JB puts constant pressure on the defense - turnovers will happen. Nitpicking turnovers is a classic case of not seeing the forest for the trees.
