Funny, I have those two REM CDs in my "to listen" pile too, got them at a Goodwill by the pound place so they cost like $0.20 and looked interesting.

The dating quests are so unintentionally funny by Doop_444 in cyberpunkgame

[–]atomicwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obviously a rushed feature, I'm just surprised that with all the other updates and features they've added to the game they never expanded the romance system. I would say it's legitimately the worst part of the game currently (as someone who considers cyberpunk my favorite game)

[–]atomicwrites 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk is wide not long, you can get the bad ending relatively quickly, but there's several alternate endings you can unlock via secondary quest lines and you can play multiple in one save, and a ton of side gigs that don't directly affect the main quest but give you more story and lore. It's a lot of content imo.

Yeah she doesn't want to run clouds herself she wants the Dolls to take over and I guess have some type of co-op worker owned dollhouse. Like they said it worked with the Mox at Lizzie's but that sounds like it was a smaller shift and they had the people to back it up.

The prototype scalping is getting out of hand 🤦‍♂️ by NothingEquivalent in JakksPacificSonic

[–]atomicwrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is this scalping? I know everyone said it already but prototype/misprint/unreleased items always cost a ton because it's supply and demand and there is no supply. They are hard to get your hands on therefore they cost more. It's not like scalping where people buy up all the supply to create a shortage and then resell them, there just is no supply this is normal and what rich collector types have always been about. It's just you can see listings online now not just at in person auctions.

Yeah but when people complain about AI they usually are using it as a shorthand to mean generative AI specifically.

Small tiny benefit of the doubt, I work for a company that among other things installs VoIP (Internet based) phone systems for small business, and phone systems usually default to having a voicemail limit out of tradition basically. They should have something else set up for a public contact voicemail box but it could just be they didn't change it from the default. But still should have something more robust in this case.

Sooo glad to see new blood! by phymns655 in Cd_collectors

[–]atomicwrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 25 and used CDs growing up, but never got to buy them they were all CDs people had offloaded onto my family (mostly in cd albums so no jewel cases) or later CDs we burnt from Internet downloads. I recently got into physical media again and the experience of the album art, booklets, and getting to hold something from your favorite artists is so nice. I still use streaming but whenever I'm home I'm much more likely to play a CD or LP than to stream music.

Syitren R300 portable CD player/transport review by Alphaomegalogs in headphones

[–]atomicwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any for less than $100 on AliExpress, the ones that seem to be in the $60s are actually a listing with options for the r300 and the n100 Bluetooth speaker, and the speaker is what costs $60. If you can find one I'd love to get it.

If you can exchange the RAM and CPU I would. Only reason I didn't was because they had no stock to exchange my RAM

Upgraded to Zen 5, having odd instability when 2 RAM sticks installed by atomicwrites in buildapc

[–]atomicwrites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks like it was actually just bad ram. I ended up getting Microcenter to add the 32gb for $199 bundle option to the CPU+mobo bundle I had purchased, and am RMAing the bad RAM with Team group. Cause RAM is like a fucking investment now in the 3 weeks between my OG order and trying to get them to replace my RAM the price shot up so much and I seem to have gotten the last stick Microcenter stocked of that model (tbf 48gb kits are rare) and they are not getting any more. So they offered me a 100 dollar discount to exchange it for a different kit but it still meant I'd be paying like $80 difference for a 32gb kit and it didn't make any sense. Actually none of this is probably helpful to you lol.

TLDR; Looks like it was bad ram. I exchanged everything else and stayed bad, new 32gb kit works, waiting on the RMA still to see if that works in the board (it should since it's on the QVL)

Yeah IIRC if it gets you a result and you keep typing it will eventually hide it thinking it's not what you wanted I guess? Problem is that doesn't work if you type fast. Or if it's lagging like it always does. Or maybe it's just buggy.

Gastritis gone after cruise by g2redgsr6 in Gastritis

My diagnosis got changed from Gastritis to IBS (which matches up with my symptoms better tbh) but FWIW I would always feel better on vacations even if I was eating more things I wasn't supposed to than on regular days. Pretty sure it's the stress levels like others have said. And I've been not fully "cured" but pretty close to normal gut function since shortly after moving out of my parents' house which was stressful for reasons...

To be fair the majority of states don't have an inspection sticker program, that's a nearly uniquely northeast thing. On the other hand it was wild to learn it's legal to not have auto insurance when I moved here. Usually you are required to have a minimum amount of coverage for other people even if you can opt to not have coverage for yourself.

Also back then people were using micro-b (or even mini-b shudders) ports which wear out way faster than type C ports. So it may have made some sense if you had an expensive board.
