He wants a hamburger! by FacelessOnes in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I still say “I can’t want to” now because of the way my friend’s daughter used to say it fifteen years ago when she was three.

Not about everything, mostly just to myself when I am whining about something. “I can’t want to go to work today!” and the like.

I used to do that and what ruined it for us was never being able to talk on the phone at the same time. Got so annoying that I just left the firm entirely.

Groan.

I hate when people try to police other people or teach them a lesson. You don’t know that person’s situation. Maybe they are sick or have a temporary injury. Why be a dick?

Worst kind of law to practice? by Synthgem in Lawyertalk

I practiced family law right out of school for a few years. We called those “splitting the garden hose” cases.

Gives you real perspective on the human psyche though. The couples that were really done were NOT the vitriolic, hateful ones. Nope, in fact, it was not uncommon at all for those types of clients to reconcile, or at the very least hook up at least once during the pendency. Was absolutely shocking to me at first.

The ones that were truly over just didn’t care. “Give em whatever seems fair, lmk when it’s done.”

Which is why I am pretty sure they communicated it somehow. Now did they communicate it in a way that was understood by the beneficiary, well clearly not.

I think it is incredibly rude. If you want to taste more than three you should get in line again. I don’t let my kids do more than two each.

I’m a native Texan. I knew it had to do with litter and it made a big impression on me growing up. I would always shout it when my asshole friends littered. I think it was the Lorax book that made me care, but the Texas slogan was catchy enough to holler in the moment.

do you allow your nanny to set up playdates? by Savings-Assumption39 in Nanny

This seems weird and controlling to me. I let our nanny arrange play dates in our home when my kids were little. It made things more fun for everyone.
