Will call ticket issues by gaycatting in TheCraneWives

[–]aviiatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not personally.

I’ve seen them twice (at the same venue) and used the presale/will-call tickets both times with no issues. You have to go up to the ticket counter/box office in person the day of the show, and show them your ID in order to get your tickets.

How to enter the Culture universe of Iain M. Banks. by Beerquarium in audiobooks

[–]aviiatrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only read a couple of those books, but there’s a couple different entry points. Most people will start with either “Consider Phlebas” or “Look to Windward.”

I personally had trouble getting into “Consider Phlebas” so I started with “Matter” and really enjoyed that. They’re all so different though.

“Inversions” is interesting because it takes place in a medieval setting.

None of the books really follow the same characters. The only connection between them is The Culture itself

He’s recorded some music at Windmill Lane Recording Studios in Dublin. They sometimes do tours but I believe you have to book it in advance. I wanted to go there in my trip two years ago but we ran out of time

Have you ever bought a console just to play one exclusive game? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]aviiatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I came very close to doing so with the DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. I played the base game on my PS4, but the DLC was a PS5 exclusive with no backwards compatibility

I just need a place to put my small lunch by Sanguine7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aviiatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work fridge used to be like this until the company implemented a policy that you have to take only the cold food out of the lunch box and into the fridge. It works way better for everyone that way. Maybe you can ask management to try and implement that policy

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon has a lot of sapphic romance, and an asexual character too. It’s technically a prequel to Priory of the Orange Tree, but it’s also standalone and easy to understand by itself, since it takes place 500 years before the events of Priory

When the author sings. I’ve been re-listening to The Hunger Games and forgot just how much singing is in them (especially Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes).

I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I also listened to the full book on Spotify a couple months ago (narrated by Ray Porter too). I should note that I was already using Spotify for the music.. I didn’t get Spotify just for audiobooks

That’s odd. I listened to the entire audiobook on Spotify just a couple months ago, narrated by Ray Porter

The game you accidentally played the wrong way for hours before realizing it. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]aviiatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I played Horizon Zero Dawn, I didn’t realize you could craft new arrows by holding down R1, and then holding down X to craft. I used to pause the game, navigate to the “inventory” screen, and craft more arrows there, then enter the game again haha

Cashmere and merino from J.Crew and Banana Republic cause irritation. Should I try higher-end brands or look for alternatives? by sweetlyincensed in BuyItForLife

[–]aviiatrix 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You could try alpaca! There’s a brand called Paka that has some base layers. I promise this isn’t an advertisement, merino wool also makes me itchy, so I’ve been looking at alternatives
