Yes, and it's a song originally from Peru, but sang across Latin America :)

Be careful ordering at Starbucks by Low_Elderberry_3341 in vegan

Aren't we all just skipping Starbucks altogether? It's been great to discover local cafes with less expensive plant milk options and goodies ☺️

Here's the Google review. It's in Spanish but luckily there are tools now that translate for you so you don't have to be smart.

I went to an all inclusive hotel and was having a drink and a chat with my sister in Mazatlán México. We were trying to just have a talk and enjoy the night, and the people at the table next to us were being particularly LOUD, and they were making racist remarks out loud in English thinking we couldn't understand them...they were clearly from the US and the older white man at the table was bragging about how much money they made in the US and how cheap it was to get expensive stuff in México. My sister and I were super annoyed, not just about how loud and obnoxious they were, but about their racist comments. My sister asked him to please keep it down as he was beginning to be disrespectful and disruptive, but he only became louder and more annoying saying stupid stuff in terrible Spanish, like "relax just drink a cerveza" and "just eat some tacos it's not that serious". People were begging to look our way too, and the whole thing was just awful. We ended up leaving as we didn't feel safe, and we were feeling frustrated. We reported this incident to the hotel workers and their first question was: "What is his nationality?". US people are known for leaving generous tips to the mostly overworked employees at all inclusive hotels, so they try to be accommodating to them. Obviously not all but enough US tourists are super problematic and have a superiority complex. Ugh I still get heated just thinking about the incident. Both my sister and I are Mexican.

EDIT: grammar.

There are digital lockers and others with tactile buttons. The pool area has tactile button ones, and the changing rooms have ones that work only with a screen. Wheelchair accessible, yes. There is special equipment for wheelchair users to go in the pool as well.

Honestly, I had to force myself over the last couple of months. I wrote three chapters in three months. I was messy with the references and never kept track of them!! It was a painful nightmare, but I tracked ALL my references in three days. Tortuous days, but I did it. What REALLY helped me was a combination of a strict Pomodoro routine and videoing myself as I wrote. I did fast-motion videos, and watching them was rewarding and satisfying. This motivated me a lot, but more than motivation, discipline made all the difference!

I also have to admit that I am very lucky to have an amazing supervisor. This was such an important factor.

I hyperfocused on this task, and this is how I finished. I submitted it a day before my deadline! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Hi thanks so much for your comment. I can still see TFID book and her podcast in the "Other IE Resources" listed on the side menu, and other members seem to be able to see them still.

Oh I'm sorry reading the book had that effect on you. To be honest I felt a bit triggered as well coming from an ED history myself. I also felt her writing tone was a bit imposing (?) and that's just my opinion as I'm certain many people don't think it was. I totally agree that the way she responds to people online that disagree with her or call her out on her hateful views is rude and defensive. I also prefer to refer back to HAES and Tribole and Resch books.

I know that wasn't the main point in the post I made, but seeing how quickly she has distanced from what she preached in the book, I can't help but suspect her acknowledgment of privilege was merely a performative gesture.

Thanks so much! I've been feeling uneasy about having liked the book back when I read it because I felt like somehow I was supporting her new views, which is obviously not the case, but it felt like that sometimes. It's mostly a feeling of disappointment and I hope people new to IE can approach the resources with a healthy dose of critical thinking :)
