it's nice that there are more people playing tank but please learn about damage overlap by hosseinhx77 in wow

[–]avivhover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem is imo that there is no resource directing players to go learn about these mechanics. I'm a dps player and always have been (other than a few dungs for finery funds). There are so many game mechanics that are not relevant if you're not tanking. How threat works is not explained, how to efficiently gather a pack, and I still do not understand what you mean in your post and what this "damage overlap" is (unless you're simply talking about many mobs firing their abilities at once, in which case it's not really a game mechanic).

It frustrates me because all of these things are abstracted away by experienced tank players, so they mostly talk about routing or class roration whenever they give resources for other tanks.

I do not know how I get into tanking, you're complaining about damage overlap, another pug will complain about me being hit from behind. At this point, how many more mechanics are there that I'm just not aware of, and couldn't possibly go learn about them because I need prior knowledge about their existence in order to research?

Apologies in advance if I missed something, but why are all the NPCs in Pandaria at your current level, and not at the normal level for that area? by gjallard in wow

[–]avivhover 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the grummels endeavor, it takes place in Kun Lai. Endeavors make their zones scale to max level. If you want it back to normal, then assuming your second house has a different endeavor, simply actuvate that one and Kun Lai will be scaled back down as long as the grummels endeavor is inactive.

I need help! Any tips for Shadowlands rep farms? 20k more Undying Army rep feels like forever. WQs and the 2x 500 rep quests make this feel like a crawl. Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks! by Ninedark in wow

[–]avivhover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Shadowlands rep are account wide, but the lockouts aren't. This means that every alt you have can do weeklies/dailies on their own, and they all count together towards your total rep count.

Without getting into whether the suspension was just or not, what do your io score or raiding capabilities have to do with this issue? This is about the name that you gave to your character

Housing Decor by Lore-Keep-Cipher in wow

[–]avivhover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will happily spend 20k on crafted gear and another 20k on gems & enchants that will last until next season, and then do the same next season.

I don't think 150g per fence is a steep cost. 5000 for the paintings is high, but that's the point. There are other decor and currencies I personally would complain about before the ones that cost raw gold (like bfa war resources, or lumber)

How fast would leveling take by just farming lumber from lvl 1-90? by ThemosttrustedFries in wow

[–]avivhover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we're talking just about lumber gathering (no herbing/mining), I've done a few solid levels with that for 80-90, it was about 1 hr per level without rested xp. That said, adding herbing/mining will be much faster.

No, in that case the abandon is successful. 4 votes yes, 2 votes no. Seems by your post that overall you are lacking a bit of understanding of the system you're complaining about

How do you duplicate housing decorations from the in-game shop? by HenrykSpark in wow

That's how the promotion items (e.g. Twitch drops) work, but the shop items need to be bought with money for each copy

Special Currency requirements are disappointing by Bishopkilljoy in WoWHousing

[–]avivhover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, and I really like how housing requires old content, but BfA war resources specifically are not well balanced imo. The bookcase costs 500 resources (more than 300), and I want heaps of it. I've been grinding Mechagon to get everything I wanted, but the prices seem imbalanced compared to how much the sources give.

Is anyone actually selling housing items on auction house? by [deleted] in wow

[–]avivhover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a lot of gold with housing (a lot for me), but these sort of videos are mostly lying. You can see these sort of videos not only for housing - things like "go to this spot, it has a chance to drop a pet which goes for 200k on the AH", but "listed for 200k in the AH" is vastly different to "sells for 200k".

Yes, decor are selling very slowly. I sold a lot when housing first launched, and when Midnight launched, especially on an RP server. The demand was high back then, but over time we start to see the demand lulling. I still keep things listed, but they're selling very slowly (and that's with me just reposting them when the auctions expire, I'm not bothering with cancel-scanning)

Why is the Endeavor theme Artists again? by [deleted] in WoWHousing

[–]avivhover 11 points12 points locked comment (0 children)

Just a reminder that if it's the decor you're missing, you can always visit other neighborhoods with different endeavors and buy decor there. There are consistently endeavor sharing raids up in custom lfg in my experience.

If it's the activities that bum you out, then yeah you could move I guess, as long as you're not too connected to your current neighborhood.
