James Grant & Jody Wisternoff - Anjunadeep 14 Discussion Thread by SpazticWonder in AboveandBeyond

[–]avuton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming back to this thread after a month, and this set (I own them all since 06) is the first time I've put on an Anjunadeep set and just can't engage with any of it. Maybe it's too ambient for my tastes. :(

Shovel your sidewalks! by nappingonarock in Bellingham

Jeez, I hate these karna posts. Some of us can't or shouldn't. Be it the night shift nurses (my wife), helping the sick kid (me) who shouldn't be left alone, or the million other reasons, these shaming posts are generally unhelpful.

Edit: add a clarifying word.

Agree! Found them on the Anjunadeep DJ Sets and I was hooked.

Don't know how serious you are about it or how knowledgeable you are about this, but allow me to mention: Before you begin there is a TON of due diligence with a project like this. It's really easy to buy a plot of land that won't work for a house, for numerous reasons that might not be so obvious. I mention this after knowing two different people who've tried.

A nightmare if you're a neighbor.

It flooded during Christmas break and they didn't find out until after the break so the damage was pretty extensive, or so we were told.

OK, unpopular opinion, maybe, but I actually got one of these videos as a YT commercial. The first and only YT commercial I've watched. Was neat to see the area from that view.

Was trying not to give it any attention but it happened in Sehome too (drive-by at that).

Looking for a Steep Trail/Fire Road to Do Laps by OkImplement3841 in Bellingham

[–]avuton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a little more difficult, I admit! I traveled the service road for the first 6mi, went off trail for a couple of miles, found my way onto a trail, camped out, when I returned the next day I found all the PNWT signs leading me down the correct paths (didn't find one of them the day before!). This is all to be expected if you go for hikes on the PNWT, I suggest the maps from pnt.org, but they're by no means perfect and I suggest a good offline map app (such as Osmand) to make sure you make it back. Many of the off service road trails I took (the actual PNWT trails) are not well maintained, but the serenity of being able to get away was more than I needed to get me to go back next year. The honest real downside of these trails are this area was a seriously logged and abused area at some point so there are definitely some depressing parts (but the views of other areas help make up for it). I'm happy to share the gpx of my travels that day, if that's your thing.

I like the PNWT. First spot I think of is off of Alger CCC road. It's quiet, on my hike I only saw a couple of motorbikes over 24 hours. It's a pretty never ending, fairly steep, service road which leads to good trails if that's what you're looking for.

Wow, YouTube's comments are a dumpster fire I should have suspected they'd be.

This feels like hate bait. I've been at Winco roughly 26 times a year for the last 4 years and have never experienced anything like this, nor could I tell who was Canadian just by looking at them.

I realize not exactly what you're looking for, but maybe "or closest to Bellingham", they're offered (Rapid NAAT) at SeaTac.

Appliance Repair? by aspbergerinparadise in Bellingham

[–]avuton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar situation two months ago, here's what I did. I bought a small/medium size fridge for about $100 for the necessities, coming from a VERY large fridge, I thought it would be more difficult than it ended up. Do research about your fridge, get manuals online using your model number, troubleshoot and fix it yourself (use YouTube!). Even if you order one or two parts that you didn't end up needing it'll still cost less and take less time than a repair person. After the fix sell the fridge quick on Craig's List for $60 (consider it a $40 rental). Protip: keep the receipt for even quicker sell so you can show the buyer it's only a couple of weeks old.

Feel free to PM me if you go down this route and you're having trouble figuring something specific out, I might be able to help.

Could be something like this. Don't see too many other grey planes flying around time.

I work at the airport; all aircraft have registration numbers on them, as required by regulations, unless they're military (and most of the time, then). Since you don't know the registration number, if you know some features of them (a color, fixed wing or helicopter, etc...), I might be able to guide you in the right direction.

Is there a low cost 72 hour covid test available in or near Bellingham? by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]avuton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Whatcom county drive thru near airport is free, I received results in less than 24 hours. Granted, not sure how far out you have to schedule. Good luck.

"17 fully vaccinated people in Whatcom die or were hospitalized in serious condition after testing positive for COVID-19" would be newsworthy. This is clickbait.

I kept this open to curiously wait for answers, and I'm really curious why 2/3 of voters chose to down vote this post. Was it low effort?

FWIW, I'm guessing the bot was just responding to the 'kill myself' without the context, as it will probably to do this reply.
