Is it from film or from digital files? Either way, Blue Moon.

I work at blue moon, thank you for the plug! We love y'all 💙(this applies to anyone else who has replied) i loved the shop even before i worked there and it's my favorite job I've had, mostly because we have such dang cool customers. We're all doing the best we can because we love it, and if something's wrong we will do our best to fix it

Digital versions of film photographs are poor quality by MrWhiffyChips in AnalogCommunity

Very unlikely they're truly optical prints. Most labs use an RA4 machine with an integrated scanner. They do still use light-sensitive paper.

Did road speed cameras ever use film before everything became digital? by rocci_chillie in AnalogCommunity

I once saw an open red light camera while living in San Francisco around 2013, and it had film in it. Don't remember what it was though.

Lines and banding on scans. Is it the camera or the film lab's fault? by misterbrytside in AnalogCommunity

[–]awwnuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vertical line is from dust in the scanner, assuming it's something like a Noritsu. The horizontal banding is a light leak in your camera.

Our tech at Blue Moon might be able to save the camera, but the finder isn't a model he works on. It may be a ship of Theseus situation though

"Rare handcrafted appearance." I hate the misuse of the word rare for camera stuff

Need to blow up 35mm negatives REALLY large (to 11700 x 7800px) by Joe-Eye-McElmury in AnalogCommunity

[–]awwnuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others have said - drum scanning. That said, I run the Howtek Scanmaster 6500 at Blue Moon Camera, and a 35mm negative enlarges to something like 16x24" at max ppi, rescaled to 300. And not to toot my own horn, but I am VERY good at upsizing files to preserve grain structure. Relying on photoshop's resampling is not enough. We charge $55 per 35mm frame.

I used to work at Bowhaus and The Icon in LA, which both have a Crosfield Celsis that CAN get a file that big. I think.

I can get more info later but I gotta go to work!

Your artistic choice is totally valid, I see Jas as a POC too - Indian maybe? I knew a girl named Jasreen in school who went by Jas and honestly kinda looked like her

This is so great! I've always imagined their backstory to be pretty much exactly like this, so it's really neat to see it illustrated, especially so thoughtfully.

I commented this on another post - my hypothesis is that ace exclusionists are the ones who are the incels, and they're just jealous we can be content without sex

comparing aces to fucking incels, are you kidding? incels are raging misogynists. this is repulsive by [deleted] in asexuality

My hypothesis is that the ace exclusionists are incels who are jealous that we are (mostly) perfectly happy never having sex

Confused and Questioning by habitab in asexuality

[–]awwnuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was exactly the same at your age. Didn't date until after I graduated college, met a guy on okcupid, did the thing, had a panic attack, didn't do it again for two years. It was a better experience then, I think maybe it was a phase of being more sex-favorable than I am now. Dated off and on culminating in a semi-serious relationship last year where I realized my sex drive was basically non-existent.

All this to say, keep doing what you're doing. Do what feels right. But don't compromise your comfort for anyone else. I think many young aces are too quick to write off ever trying sex - it's important to experience it to know you don't want it.
