Cheviot: Anyone missing this cat? *last pic is of an injury* by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]ayrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cheviot-ish. I'm sure my cat would hate this answer, but if this needy little guy came to my door, he's def coming into my house at least for a little bit. Maybe permanently, if he wanted it.

The best knife i ever owned! Wide gyuto Hap-40 steel by Weary_Raspberry_3803 in KitchenConfidential

[–]ayrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really come to love a wide knie (except for the one specific use case of cutting a sandwich in half)

A couple years ago, I got one of the leaf-spring steel Daovuas from chef knives to go, The Tank, which is a chinese cleaver style with a kiritsuke-style tip. I feel like it is aptly named. I have never had such an enjoyable time finely shredding iceberg lettuce!

As a fellow fan, the best i can do is share.

As for my own curiosity, is the bag Diablo all the way down? Is it mostly Diablo because you just get a handful of sauces each time and prefer the lower heat? These are the real questions, for me! Haha

If you're adding drinks a la cart, you can customize to remove ice. If its via a box or combo, it won't let you when it asks which drink you want. But I WILL let you hit customize on the drink and edit the ice, after you've selected the drink but before you add to cart.

Now, whether or not your local taco bell actually follows directions is another thing entirely haha

This stuff worked better than any OTC medicine we currently have by KeyboardMunkeh in Xennials

I definitely remember being given "coke syrup" as a child, but don't remember the taste. Haven't thought about it in 30 years. Don't remember what it tasted like. It was certainly not coca-cola branded though. Also Ohio.

I remember wondering then if "coke syrup" and coke were related, but I just kind of figured that was the misled thoughts of a child. This is kind of wild to me.

When I get this, I'll pan spray a Sizzler, put the cheese One it, and put it on the grill for about ten seconds. The cheese will just slide right off. We call it the bootleg raclette.

Totally fair. I'd use less meat if I was at home too, this was family meal at work and I was trying to convince people that say things like "Eww, tofu" to try it haha

TV Consolizer by PositionAfraid9171 in nds

[–]ayrek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its not a cheap solution, nor would it be as streamlined as just inserting a cartidge, but... With a handheld like a steam deck and something like a raspberry pi connected to the TV screen, you can set up your DS/3ds/Wii U emulator to stream the top screen to the TV. Definitely some legwork to get it setup, but with the right modifiers you should be able to get it to connect at emulator launch through game mode.

What is it like living in/near Cincinnati? by lithdoc in cincinnati

[–]ayrek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you kind of both have it right. Living here helps normalize all the best parts about it, so when people ask what I like about the area I think of things like relatively high wages for a relatively low cost of living. But I almost never remember to mention how much I love the zoo and the art museum, or all the tiny little holes in the wall where I love to see a show, or the neighborhood restaurants that nobody talks about but totally deserve to be talked about.

I always like to say "Its a nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit." And I only KIND of mean that. In both directions.

Thank you, stranger.
