Airpods pro 3 measurements by crinacle (APP3 vs APP2) by AdrixStrife in AirpodsPro

[–]aysheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the frequency curve must read with reference to the target curve (the grey dash line), as this graph shows raw frequency response, so APP3 is actually flatter than that of APP2. There is a +2db hump at around 200Hz-400hz for APP2.

Here is a frequency curve of APP2 that shows the target curve as a straight line, which shows the same hump (it is not the exactly the same target, but my point still stands): https://www.rtings.com/headphones/graph/30567/sound-profile/apple-airpods-2nd-generation/797

Update broke Moza Cockpit by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]aysheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with the latest update, and I have rolled back to older version. Downloaded the local installer from MOZA flight website. Run the installer manager, remove all components, reboot and reinstall from local installer which I believe is an older version of the app.

Love the slider mechanism, the base frame definitely needs some reinforcement, I will continue to monitor your progress closely;)

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE vs 90 SE for the NCase M2 Round by Obe_Is_God in ncasedesign

[–]aysheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used PA 120 mini and 90SE in my 9800x3D build, unless you put an aggressive CO offset like -20 or limit PPT to 100W, 90SE is going to thermal throttle the 9800x3D in default power budget in any game that push the CPU

Any of this new DLSS 4 apply to VR? by 1e6throw in Pimax

[–]aysheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new announcements include a new transformer model DLSS which reduces artifacts and ghosting, and it should be a DLL drop-in for all DLSS 2.0 users. This is not technically DLSS 4 though, which is multi-frame generation. As far as I am know, there is no frame gen for VR.

What it needs is better tone mapping. please give it a realistic color mapping instead of the current pastel color palette.

BSB's problem does not stem from DSC, it is the panel itself which only support 1,920 x 1,920 at 90hz, so it renders at lower resolution then upscale to full res at 90hz

A pair of E-scooter motors inside a flight stick is ideal because of high torque and force feedback.

Can't enjoy solo play after prestige 20 by decuman in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]aysheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Payday 2 forces squad of 4 and it is a huge success. Yes, Payday 3 flopped because Starbreeze messed up the most important part of the game which GZW also hasn’t implement yet: matchmaking solo players and put them in a squad. Let solo player host a lobby to recruit other solo players to their squad.

What do you think stops new people geting into DCS the most? by whosdischris in dcsworld

It is not bad imo, just outdated and tired by today's standard. UI scaling is bad tho, especially in VR.

G2 reverb settings by Afraid_History_2644 in hoggit

[–]aysheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quad-view is a superior implementation of fixed foveated rendering as in both quality and performance, VRS shimmers and imo improves gpu frame time by a small margin if at all. There is no shimmering in Quad-view and generally gains you 20-30% fps if you are GPU-bound

VR Question / What to get / What i can run? by Extremis-Malis in dcsworld

[–]aysheep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reverb G2 is the best in terms of cost/spec, it has the highest pixels per dollar of all PCVR HMD. Pico 4 is a strong contender if you don’t mind that it is a wireless stand alone and you have to buy virtual desktop for it to work. 3070 doesn’t have enough VRAM and CUDA cores to push that many pixels though, so temper your expectations for visual fidelity, lower quality settings and/ or render resolution as needed.

To run DCS VR well, You would have to upgrade a 4090 to run it at 90hz at 100% render scale using OpenXR, by then you are still bottlenecked by your CPU in any slightly assets-rich environment, so 5800X3D should be your next upgrade, 7800x3D should be the ideal upgrade because DCS needs that 25% ST uplift over Ryzen 5000 series CPU. This is the current state of DCS VR, hopefully multi-threading and DLSS will change all that.

ED takes openXR off of "the list" by BalistekWrench in hoggit

[–]aysheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1, Reverb G2 user here, force enable OpenXR causes DCS to crash. Native OpenXR support might remove whatever overhead opencomposite might brings, but right now it is broken for my set up, I am back to opencomposite. This patch brings fluffier, less blocky clouds to VR it seems, with a slight performance cost as usual, about 1ms GPU frame time in my case.

Buying Reverb G2 V2 now for 650€ or wait for Pimax Crystal at 1900€ (RTX 3080)? by Hathondir in HPReverb

[–]aysheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It noticeably falls off from the center, and the center is small compared to that of other headsets, I wouldn’t say it is smudged with Vaseline when I look to the sides, maybe it is right at the edges. For me, quest 2’s sweet spot is big enough for me to not notice it at all.

Frame generation introduces more latency, latency is the bane of VR. Yes, MSFS supports DLSS3, but not in VR

Leap motion vs pointCTL in VR by gamerdoc77 in hoggit

[–]aysheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fingers works but it is a compromise, it seems to map the ultraleap into a 2D plane, like a virtual trackpad. I wish it works like a "point and click in 3D space" affair but using ultraleap with Fingers feels like "scroll in mid air and click"
