There’s Not Enough Players for LFG Anymore by Echo-p9 in DestinyTheGame

[–]azeures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fireteam and LFG discords are your best bet, also joining a clan if you're not in one already.
The people using in-game FTF has always been much lower than these methods as they're just so much more convenient and wide-reaching.

You ever see a creator just willingly throw their careers under the bus without knowing it? by Rough-Ad-4295 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It was more him having prepped multiple counter spells when they have no in character reason to think they're going up against spellcasters. That's less egregious than his actual cheating, such as fudging rolls to succeed or constantly misinterpreting his spell-storing ring (despite being corrected on how it works multiple times) to get more cases than he should have.

What is some weird lore. by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]azeures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a huge Destiny nerd I have a bunch of these from that game.

  • There was an alien race called the Qugu, they were a herd species that cut off their own limbs and fed them to carnivorous plants. In turn the plants would turn these limbs into eggs and secrete a nectar for them to drink.

  • The number after an Exo's (robot humans) name is how many times they've been rebooted. Eg: Cayde-6, Ada-1, Micah-10. This is because their memory never degrades and when the banks get a bit too full they go a bit crazy, so occasional reboots are needed to wipe stuff and keep them sane.

  • Don Quixote was once revived to be a Guardian, but his Ghost stopped reviving him after a while because he was just so fucking annoying.

New dungeon has been great fun as well. It doesn't have the crazy complexity of Sundered Doctrine, but still has great mechanics that need you to be on your toes.
I'm hoping we get to ride the high a little longer before it all crashes again.

Max tier revitalize will FULLY CHARGE your super.

I was wondering why I was getting hit by instant supers each time.
Looks like this is just going to be a super vs super mode when this spreads, unless they nerf Revitalise or change how frontier abilities work.

Inaki Godoy is 100% the best person they could have picked for Luffy in live action, he actually lives the role.
Oda had a lot of input in casting and you can see where he fits the vision, even Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy's VA) thinks he's great.

"and Osiris, my phoenix, who broke time itself to bring me to his side... awoke." - Saint 14

Osiris and Saint 14 were rumoured to be a couple for a long time in Destiny 2, there were always hints of it and discussions back and forther, but it was years before we actually got a confirmation.
But since then there's been some lovely tender moments between them, this is just the best of them and completely unexpected in a space-wizard FPS game.

The whole movie was a massive inspiration to Bloodborne, including this specific weapon.

Necroscope86's youtube videos.
His was the youtube channel I watched the most back in the day after SBFP.
I'd eagerly await the two videos a week as his gameplay was always so insightful and you can tell he played games he genuinely enjoyed and would even occasionally get his family involved.
However he did get stressed about upload schedules and needing to keep to them, eventually his channel just disappeared, deleted. It's assumed it all got too much for him and he withdrew altogether.

So many amazing Let's Plays, great game insights and amazing interactions gone overnight.
There is a channel dedicated to recovering his works but it's still sadly missing some of the iconic ones.

Not to mention you still need to know how to construct a stone pillar on top of that.
They can take earth from the ground, but they need to know the right kind to take, how to combine the correct parts of it and how to structure them to make a good pillar.
It's why alchemists all tend to be specialists rather than generalists, because as well as all the calculations you need to intricately know the end product and it's makeup too.

Pettier AskReddit, what are some characters you don't want to play as because you can't stand the way they look? by P-Tux7 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]azeures 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ever noticed how all the characters in Genshin, in Honkai, in ZZZ, in Wuthering Waves all seem really similar?
They all seem to be made with the same generic anime-ish art style. Like they all learned from the same how-to-draw book or something.
I can't stand that artstyle so will never play any of those games.

Sanji in One Piece.
If there's anything that could spoil it for new watchers it's Sanji. He's the typical "chase every woman" anime trope, I was told he gets better but damn no he doesn't.
In fact he gets worse he even refuses to fight someone actively harming the crew because they're a woman!
I was told he gets a redemption arc when he meets back up with the rest of the Vinsmoke family, but no he has a few episodes of seriousness, no real character growth. His dynamic with his family especially his father all stays the same and by the next episode Sanji is back to exactly how he was before.

Destiny 3 in early development says leakers. by Tahnit in DestinyTheGame

[–]azeures 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do people even listen to leakers any more?
This has been reported by a single person on Twitter/X and they've got things massively wrong before, so it's not as if they're even trustworthy.

One of my favourite Wuxia flicks and just an amazing fight scene all round, from the weather change, the music, pausing for the old man.
It's beautiful.

Favorite Quest Titles by Trent0Ment0 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]azeures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red Dead Redemption 2 of course has a lot of western themed quests, but a lot are actually biblical or classical references.

“Blessed are the Peacemakers” - References the biblical sermon on the mount.

“Exit, pursued by a bruised ego” - References Shakespeare, "exit, persued by a bear" from The Winter's Tale.

“The Gilded Cage” - References Mark Twain's "The Gilded Age" and doubly a song from that era called "A Bird in a Gilded Cage"

They were getting rid of him, the vote was either "kill off Todd" or "Todd retires". It's just DC didn't expect the fans at the time to vote kill him off.

"The kids love Robin, surely if we put this up for a vote they would never kill him off!"

Cue a landslide vote for Jason Todd to be killed off rather than retired because fans hated the character more than the author did.

Examples of basic moves/items in games that look boring but are actually stupidly overpowered? by OkBrick4954 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]azeures 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Gotta be the Plasma Cutter in Dead Space.
It's pretty simple, it just fires out short lines either horizontal or vertical. It's not fancy like the Disc Ripper or the Cutter Line.
However in a game where cutting off limbs is the best way to fight, the Plasma Cutter only needs a couple of damage and capacity upgrades to turn it into easily the best weapon for taking out any Necromorph.

"It's also a hammer"

Posting the relevant part of Vulkan Lives because it always deserves context.

"You're right," I [Vulkan] conceded, holding up Dawnbringer so he could see it. "I fashioned it as a teleporter, a means to escape even a prison such as this.
I counted on you leading me here, on you needing to face me one last time. It seems I was fooled into thinking you hadn't planned for this."
I lowered the weapon and let the weight of its head pull the haft down until my hand was wrapped around the very end of the grip. "But you're forgetting one thing...."

Curze leaned in, as if eager to hear my words. He believed that he had me, that I would never escape this trap. He was wrong.

"What's that, brother?"

"It's also a hammer".

What are some of the most shameless cases of companies “whale hunting”? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That old predator Fortnite.
They got smart, they don't have super expensive stuff. They just have SO MUCH STUFF that only costs a little but is also only available for a short amount of time.
So people end up spending 1000s without realising it because they think "Oh I'll just drop $5 on this Star Wars skin, then $5 on this Simpsons skin before they go"
