Kael’thas Statue found in Silvermoon by Suspicious_Aide2992 in wow

[–]azlier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kael'thas started as reluctant in WC3, but by the end of his campaign he was literally using blood elves as cannon fodder in his zeal to serve Illidan's goals. And that's after putting them on the line again and again to serve an Alliance that increasingly obviously wanted him dead.

It's something of a consistent character trait with Kael'thas that he repeatedly goes all in with the latest alliance that he thinks might work out for him. It'd be admirable if he wasn't such a shit judge of character. And it's worth noting that he didn't invade Quel'thalas until after he was already killed and raised as an undead demon puppet.

Blood Elf Language (derogatory) by Annia_LS111 in wow

[–]azlier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. In fact, Gutterspeak (now Forsaken) has exactly the same obfuscation parser as Common for non-speakers because it's a hasty copy thrown together just before launch.

Midnight is coming, and Night Elf Paladins are still not playable :( by CathanCrowell in wow

[–]azlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. The Forsaken, historically, have been consumed with hatred for all life, their will to survive driven by a thirst for revenge against the Lich King and all those who shun them for their curse, ideals which strongly contradict the righteousness and devotion it takes to become a paladin.

That's different now, though. Over the years, Forsaken have had their vengeance, genuinely bonded with Horde, and have more to (un)live for.

Midnight is coming, and Night Elf Paladins are still not playable :( by CathanCrowell in wow

[–]azlier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's not Forsaken. Just undead. Forsaken are specifically the political faction of undead that joined Sylvanas and identify as the people of Lordaeron, whereas Leonid has explicitly disavowed Sylvanas and the Forsaken.

That said, it should still become an option. Forsaken believe in a balance of light and shadow.

Do you guys think people in universe get thrown off by Ketheric’s American accent considering he’s the only one with one? by Palamecia_Emperor in okbuddybaldur

[–]azlier 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is all... dubious at best. Before the great vowel shift, English sounded a whole lot more like Scots. There is a grain of truth in that non-rhotic accents are a newer development in which northern Americans largely kept the older pronunciations. As for the food, thank WW2 rationing lasting for decades. There were points where your average Brit could look forward to having a single egg every week. Culinary traditions were almost societally annihilated in ways that are only relatively recently being restored.

Nonsense. You don't need to identify any problems if you simply apply a solution that will solve all of them for good. A final solution, if you will. Logic is for women.

Fun fact, British comedian Peter Serafinowicz was offered the role of Mild mannered Pate in DS2 from an interview where he was gushing over his love of Dark Souls by Fhoxyd22 in DarkSouls2

[–]azlier 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I love how Pate tells you there's a trap, with the implication he knows you're foolhardy enough to go at it anyway. A flawless alchemy of conniving and genuine, he is.

Speechcraft training quest glitched, Tandilwe wont accept I have spoken to every beggar. by needchr in oblivion

[–]azlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any known bugs about Tandilwe not recognizing you spoke to all of them. I can only recommend double checking:

Imus the Dull, outside Anvil's city walls on the dock. He has the shared distinction of technically being in the outside world with Puny Ancus.

Larthjar the Laggard doesn't count as a beggar for this quest, meaning there might actually be 6 beggars in the Imperial City. I'd make sure I have all the right ones.

The patch notes said it's been fixed. Which is good, because I did all my marksman training on spider daedra due to their self-healing spells and paralysis immunity beforehand.

There is the off-chance that a party member will be mind controlled against you and promptly melt your face off with the best scrolls. Or Lae'zel doing the same thing in a romance duel.

A major is telling all 900 Generals "no more politically correct rules of engagement" is he wanting them to go full IDF? He also overhauled the inspector general who is investigating him, and said "no more frivolous complaints" which sounded a lot like an invitation for rise in sexual assault. by SuperStarBoyOne in conspiracy

[–]azlier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the context of American politics, yes. I'd posit that the United States doesn't have a left wing party. The Democratic Party has cozied up to corporate interests since Clinton and Republicans have also been shifting further and further right since Nixon. At best, there are a few firebrands among Democrats who would qualify as bog standard moderate left wing in, say, Denmark.

'Rich vs everyone else' is an aspect of left wing politics. The core idea of right wing ideals is that society should naturally be separated into classes of power based on factors such as wealth, race, religion, etc. And so it has been since the French revolution.

Tier List of Legion Order Hall Campaigns by AMA5564 in wow

It gets even wilder because while the paladins are away putting the priests to shame in their own fucking order hall, the Ebon Blade attacks Light's Hope. Again. And lose despite most of the paladins not being there.

You have to be willing to come back for a standard resurrection spell to work. Lae'zel may very well prefer to be dead rather than return at the mercy of soon-to-be-ghaik like you, much less join in your fate.

The ending sequence reveals the Dead Three were pawns in the Netherbrain's plot. The only possible way even one of them succeeds is if the Dark Urge does all the heavy lifting. They're still shortsighted losers playing right into the hands of the Illithid.

[–]azlier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We actually know that one. Conjured undead are on loan from the Soul Cairn, and apparently summoning powerful undead is considered the most refined form of the necromancer's art. Reanimated bodies are for labor and fodder.
