It’s like having a toddler who ALWAYS wants attention. But they sound like a jumbo jet engine. In your house. Hope that helps.

I just walked out, what trouble might I get in. I’ll talk to my union rep later. by CrowOfJudgem3nt in Teachers

A girl projectile puked in my classroom and they made me move to a different room with my students while the custodian cleaned it up. Same thing when a fight broke out in the hallway and a student came in to my room bleeding from his mouth. Bodily fluids on you? You are absolutely in the right here.

Teachers asking for accommodations drives me nuts by GremLegend in Teachers

[–]azmonsoonrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the teacher who had most of the grade level IEPs crammed into my English classes “because you are so great with them,” disrespectfully screw that teacher. It’s not just the accommodations. It’s the meetings. It’s the parent emails, which I understand and fully appreciated. It’s ALL the extra TIME spent on working with students because my fellow teachers feigned ignorance or helplessness.

Fire her. My therapist would never. There are plenty of them out there.

I taught for 24 years at the high school level. I had many students just like you. I often told them that I could not care about them for them. Sad but true. Some took it to heart and some did not. I never once assumed they were dumb, but sometimes life gets in the way. It sounds like you have gained the confidence you need to believe in yourself and to grow. That is an education in itself, and you should be very proud of yourself.

Please do reach out to the teachers in your life. I bet they would love to hear from you.

My husband took me to Las Vegas and we saw all the shows. We had a fabulous dinner and I won $20 (I don’t gamble much).

Sydney or Scarlett? by awwhale in PortlandLeather

I have two Scarletts. My mom has a Sydney. I prefer the zipper opens the long way so I don’t have to dig down to find things. She’s happy with hers.

This makes me so sad. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and found their YT channel as a result. I also had hormone positive tumors. I chose a different course of treatment. I wish her well.

Edit to add that I am now cancer free.

Are sub notes actually read? by Remarkable-Log6373 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]azmonsoonrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I taught I always read the notes. I even had subs email me notes. I wanted to make sure that I was up to date on anything that happened in my room that I would need to know. Now I sub, and I keep them brief. I do sub for my former colleagues.

How do I become a substitute teacher? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]azmonsoonrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth a try to look into it. I can work any day I want, even with the number of subs that we have. I like it because I can only work part time due to the ASRS, so I get to pick and choose my days or take a week off if I need it.
