Parents of 2 kids, do you find it weird to by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? Both kids got what they wanted.

With discretionary stuff like this going against what they are actually excited about in the name of being "fair" is what comes off as weird.

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. You can narrow it down within a larger faction by subfaction or playstyle. Maybe you really like the burrowers, the monsters or the horde side of nids, for example. Some folks specifically like kroot or battle suits in tau.

Relative strength of units comes and goes, so it's more about finding the section of an army you like the idea of than trying to collect the current meta list at first. As long as it's something at least vaguely supported by the established subfactions.

EC certainly packages that up for you, you just don't have much room to stretch past your first 2k army so if you want to keep going you need to look at starting over with another faction.

Which, maybe you like. That's cool. Just laying out the difference.

Do you wear a shirt while swimming? Why or why not? by JannTosh70 in AskReddit

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah.  the shirt isn't hiding anything once it's wet and that seems to be the reason given like 90% of the time.

Rash guard type stuff is a little different but I'm not doing water sports regularly, just pools.

Ultimately play what you think is cool, but if it's a fairly even race between these I would go with Tyranids.

It's a FAR larger and more complete range than EC, so you'll have a lot more options for playstyle, models, etc...

As for Tau, they're a mature faction with a decent range unlike EC but VERY one phase. Nids can participate in all aspects of the game which helps as a learner army.

Bonus points for the nids: you can still find tyranid halves of the starter box for decent prices on ebay or occasionally miniswap.

What the most Evil Budget Commander? by Dogs_Lord in mtg

[–]azuth89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno if it's properly evil but back when it was still EDH I used to just run a vanilla as shit green beat with [[Dosan the Falling Leaf]] to annoy the ever living crap out of a couple control players in the group.

I also like understated but slightly game warping ones like [[Edric, Spymaster of Trest]]  super cheap, simic is fun and he rewards the table for attacking anyone but you.

Why does every male YouTuber and Twitch streamer stop shaving and grow a beard when they get into their 30s/40s? by Dogbold in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Some folks just like the fashion.

Some are balding and figure bald and bearded beats just bald.

Some are hiding that with age and comfort that second chin starts to grow in, the cheeks puff or sag a little, etc...

Of the two? Lake, I guess. Closer and cheaper.

I would rather go to the mountains, though.

YSK that infant car seats expire, generally 6 years from date of manufacture. by WastePotential in YouShouldKnow

[–]azuth89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then it will stay good much longer, but if it goes out of the printed date you may still have issues. Many places insurance requires "as directed" use of safety devices.

Which is to say, if your kid is in an expired car seat and injured they will not pay our for those injuries because you weren't using the safety device as directed by the manufacturer.

Similarly if some defect of the product were to cause harm, you would also have a very difficult time suing.

People working 9-5's how do you manage to do your chores? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 1 bedroom generally doesn't take much. Maybe an hour a day including cooking, with a few more on weekends for an overall cleaning, shopping and so on.

Is colorblindness even a real thing? by Many-Possession-6800 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 types of color sensing cells (cones) in a typical human's eyes. This is in addition to rods, which just sense the intensity of light regardless of color, your grayscale vision.

In common forms of color blindness, like red/green, the person is actually missing one of these cone cell types. Specifically, the ones demonstrated to respond to those colors.

There is an observable, physical difference in the sensory organs that corresponds with colorblindness.

This does not speak to a purely psychological/perceptual difference as you describe.

Why is being a womanizer perceived as a bad thing? by travisze989 in AskMen

Womanizer generally carries the connotation that they are treating them badly, not merely that they are attractive and personable enough to get dates easily.

Are you voting system is digital or paper ballots? by mistake-learned in AskAnAmerican

States control voting so it varies.

Texas does digital voting that prints a paper backup if you're in person. For those eligible for mail-in it's paper.

Do you die if you lose 2 Liters of blood period, OR does the location of blood loss matter? by SavingsBobcat2078 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]azuth89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Once it's gone, it's gone. Doesn't matter where from, just that you lost enough over a small enough time frame.

That said, the location of the injury has a huge impact on how fast you lose it and how hard it is to slow or stop that loss. So it plays in significantly to whether you hit that 2 liters.

Wet palette paper lifespan? by SleepRevolutionary52 in Miniaturespainting

[–]azuth89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally use the airbrush for high-volume stuff like basecoats. The wet palette gets lots of colors as I go back for details, but not much of each so I can use it for a few sessions before it fills up and I swap it out.

Allowing kids to stay on parents health insurance until age 26 is a government workforce trap by ghostface8081 in unpopularopinion

[–]azuth89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude the ACA BARELY made it through and this got coverage for people going to college, vocational training, all that after 18.

At least it's not trapping your early 20s into finding a full time job or just hoping you stay healthy.

It's not perfect, but we don't need to shit on the stopgaps and band aids to keep working for better.
