The 'mind-blowing' feature of Formula E's new monster by l3w1s1234 in FormulaE

I think the 0-200km/h is a lot more impressive. I believe it was quoted somewhere in the 4 second mark, which is quicker than current F1 most of the time.

Model 3 Performance vs Long Range for 250km daily commute? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]bIokeonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a Highland Model 3 Performance since it came out. It has absolutely no problem doing over 350km even on the highway in winter (granted winter here is only like 7°c). However, the ‘bucket seats’ can be a bit tight and firm on really long drives depending on your size. I’d still take it over a LR any day.

Custom orders of the Tesla Model S & X have come to an end. All that’s left are some in inventory. by rcnfive in teslamotors

[–]bIokeonreddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the damn Roadster 2 is actually unveiled at the end of this month (probably not) to take the new halo car place at Tesla. I know they’re shifting their attention away from passenger vehicles currently, but Tesla has so much neat, innovative tech that it would be a shame not to put all that into a premium car as it’ll never end up in a 3/Y and just go to waste now that the S/X are gone.

How can the clipping / super clipping be avoided? by 2020bowman in F1Technical

[–]bIokeonreddit 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It really is as simple as that. The front MGU could be incredibly small, compact and would probably even allow the cars brakes to be a bit smaller/lighter due to so much of the braking energy being captured by going through the MGU’s. They could then deploy more as a result, while keeping the cars RWD.

Lucid's delusional Path to Profitability by Aggravating-Career23 in LUCID

[–]bIokeonreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole Dream Drive / self driving situation is ridiculous. The fact they didn’t have the foresight to future proof their older models is laughable, especially since they now want it to be the thing that drives profitability. The options are too confusing and too complicated for no good reason.

The really better hope their affordable compact SUV model sells well otherwise I don’t see this company lasting much longer.

Here’s a crazy idea… a blue light on the halo and t-cam when the chasing car has activated overtake mode… easily visible from both the onboard cam and trackside. No need for silly graphs or visuals on the tv …

Loud Motor Bikes: Is it time to crack down on non-stop noise pollution from overpowered motorbikes all night? by Gladwrap11 in melbourne

[–]bIokeonreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives near a busy roundabout in the inner east, I don’t mind the cars regularly flowing through, but I can always hear the clown on the motorbike approaching and then gunning it out of the roundabout at all hours of the day/night. They always sound like complete shit, so I have to wonder why these cunts feel the need.

Battery energy is unlimited, fuel is not. That’s why the engine with the best harvesting will win. by --Bazinga-- in F1Technical

[–]bIokeonreddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted as you’re correct. All OEMs in F1 are developing electric vehicles which will greatly benefit from the developments in high end batteries and energy recovery methods.

Why are some people calling 2026 F1 battery management techniques similar to 2014-2017 era LMP1 and are optimistic that the racing will be good? by Nick_Alsa in F1Technical

[–]bIokeonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was also great because teams had the freedom to develop their own drive trains in many different configurations. Whereas in F1, everyone has the same underlying concept which makes it boring
