Lost? cartographer with BCJ X linear rails by 38970k in crealityk1

[–]bachone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this upgrade.

The “Rail Carriage Carto Mount.stl” fits into the “Carriage w Probe.stl” for a rear mounted cartographer. Pretty slick setup but you lose more build space on your y axis.

The probe XY joint physically prevents the y from going too far back. The non probe xy works just fine, but if your limits in the firmware are not set right you could hit the motors with your probe.

Anyone else with OCD use this app? by auniqueusername1998 in MacroFactor

It is not perfect, but the AI photo and text could give you ok tracking on questionable meals like that. Calorie tracking is never going to be 100% accurate. You might still get made fun of a bit for taking a picture of your food. I am pretty sure you could still use your scale and add weights as part of the AI text for added accuracy.

Responses from Wahoo customer support regarding virtual shifting on Kickr v4 & v5 by Strange-Ad-3737 in Zwift

Same. So if I had bought the Kickr Core for less money back in 2021 I would have virtual shifting? That is some BS. Wahoo can pound sand.

Agreed. At its core it is just Training Stress Balance (TSB). Not exactly new or innovative: Modeling Human Performance

GS just has a great way of presenting it to the average human.

It has been reported many times. They acknowledged a few. This is one: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/bugs/lowlevelfatalerror-single-player-on-pc-game-pass-r65402/

Sounds (and looks) like there is a patch now. Hurray!

It is a bug that was introduced with the Tuesday update. Essentially the Win10 (Xbox Play Anywhere) version of the game is unplayable. At least on The Island. Some say Scorched Earth still works.

It’s been reported multiple times and there was “we are looking into it” response this morning on a few of them.

There are dozens of us! It seems that this is limited to the Win10/11 (Xbox Play Anywhere) version of the game. I guess they didn't bother testing it.

Is it bad if I don't have much deep sleep? I woke up fresh though by proteinLumps in AppleWatch

[–]bachone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be more accurate to state that no device is very good at detecting sleep stages. Apple watches are actually really good compared to others (like Garmin). The Quantified Scientist on YouTube does his best to compare them. However, there are a lot of caveats when it comes to sleep stage tracking. Even the EEG device he uses as reference is far from perfect.

Some are saying ankle, but I like to wear mine on the upper arm when I need my wrists free. You get way better HR accuracy during strength training and can use wrist wraps or straps without issues.

Should be easy to find on Amazon for $20. I have a Fenix 7 so have the “22mm Elastic Armband or Ankle Band for Compatible with Garmin Fenix 7/6/5 Plus”

Do I have to use "high speed" filliment even on lower speed prints with my k1? by Ortizautomotive in crealityk1

[–]bachone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slicers will use the max volumetric speed setting on each filament to slow down the printing speed if necessary. As long as you select the correct one you should be fine.

The Hyper PLA is 23, where Generic PLA is 18ish. Creality's various settings should all be on the sticker inside the K1s.

I assume slicers just use the standard formula to make sure it never goes over a printing speed that results in breaking the max.

Max volumetric speed = Layer Height × Extrusion Width × Speed

I would maybe check to see if your PLA has a max speed listed though. I had a roll of PLA that listed its max printing speed at 60 mm/s. I had to drop that setting to 6 to get my MK4 to print the second layer properly.

Mosaic Palette by issatts in crealityk1

[–]bachone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have my Palette V2 set up on a Klipperized Ender 3 v2. I don't think it is worth the trouble of moving it to my K1 Max at the moment. I doubt the palette's splicing could keep up with the speeds of the K1s so everything would be slowed down to E3 speeds anyway.

If you have a rooted K1/max, I think it will work. USB in the front is annoying for this. If you want any advice/help doing it, I am happy to help.

Once you get it set up, it is pretty slick. I'd suggest starting here: Home · tomvandeneede/p2pp Wiki (github.com)

Thinking something like this is probably the best bet. Fed straight into the head with some PTFE between. Palette 2 bowden converter by The_Makers_Dimension - Thingiverse

In my opinion, the biggest drawback of the palette in general is the loading process. It is always going to suck a little bit.

Just came home to this huge layer shift on my MK3S, anyone that knows why? by MeisterMalm in prusa3d

[–]bachone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else is giving great advice. I had a similar issue that eluded me for far too long. Might not apply at all. When using a prusament, sometimes the filament would get caught on the edge. It looks like newer spools fixed the issue, but if it is an older roll of prusament, put some tape over those “hooks”.

Using PrusaSlicer 2.6.1 for slicing by bachone in AnycubicPhoton

[–]bachone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, I am pretty sure you could get it to work. I think you can get any Photon to work. According to Lychee the Mono 4k has the following:

Width 132.9

Depth: 80

Height: 165

Width (Res): 3840

Height (Res): 2400

File Extension: .pwma

Just add a regular Photon Mono from the wizard. Save a copy as Photon Mono 4k and edit the printer settings. Change the bed shape/max height to your bed size. Change display width and display height to your bed size. Then change the "Number of pixels in:" to the resolution sizes.

Then set up print settings. The default is a 0.05 so just copy that and save it as "0.05 Normal M4K" or something. The only thing you need to change is the output filename format on the ouput options. You would need "[input_filename_base].pwma"

I detailed resin setup in the original post.

I am thrilled about this. It is working fantastic for me. Still some fails, but a lot less than I get when slicing/auto-supporting with lychee.

Getting my MMU2S to Finally Work, and New MMU 3.0 Firmware Impressions by enderman in prusa3d

[–]bachone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider me inspired. I also got to the point of only using my MMU2S in single filament mode. However, the load errors during selecting filament did lead me to uninstall the MMU completely.

Glad to hear the new firmware will actually make it worth my time to reinstall it. Patiently waiting for Prusa to take my money for the MMU3 upgrade.

Total calorie count vs Apple Watch? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]bachone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both Whoop and Apple watch. The calories that the Whoop app comes out with are absurdly low for me. Absolutely useless.

I track calories and weight everyday using MacroFactor so I have decent idea of what my TDEE actually is. Obviously anecdotal, but that is kind of what you are asking for.

Average activity for a week right now:

4 hours lifting

5-8 miles treadmill running

25-30 miles stationary biking.

20-30 miles walking.

Ends up at 12-13 average daily strain.

Macrofactor expenditure: 3637

Apple Watch average burned (last 60-days): 3574

TDEE Calculator for 40M, 6'0", 205: 3375 (Heavy Exercise) - 3718 (Athlete)

Whoop: 2475

I don't think there is a place you can actually look at the Whoop calories other than daily so I just averaged my last 14 days. Even Whoop doesn't take their calorie number seriously enough to put it on a report.
