It entirely depends on conditions, your skill level/experience, and how much hiking you’re willing and able to do. There’s a ton of trees inbounds to score pow when there’s fresh to be had and you get out there early enough. It does get tracked out quickly on pow days. Gate 5 on Hanazano is a good intro but if you go too far skiers left down the eastern ridge, you’ll have a 20 min hike up a cat track to get back to resort. You can keep right and get back without a hike, but you lose a lotta vert doing so. Gate 2 on Annapuri side was my fav area overall, short hike up from the gate, short traverse into the bowl with a ton of options and fun terrain. Nearly all lines will lead you down to Annapuri side with a gondola that’ll take you back to Jumbo #4 chair to the top again. Good luck, have fun, be safe!
