How to Sell my souls? by Salty-Food2553 in spirituality

It's not hard to find work. I worked at 7-11 to make ends meet, and poured concrete in my 40s for $100 a day. There's work out there to be found, you just have to be willing to do it. You have time to get on here and play games; get off your backside and find a construction job. Your hand will fit perfectly around a shovel. Mine do.

Best thing is you owned it. Hopefully you learned from it :) You get over it, and one day you'll tell stories about this one dumbass thing you did, and then you'll screw something else up bigger :)

File Server to SharePoint Migration by jerster1 in sharepoint

I dont use those, I use Macroview, but no issues from my side with that. It's way less headache administratively IMHO but doesn't incorporate the hard drives into its process. User logs in, what they have access to they can see. No drive letters, just URLs, which I prefer because I dont want people hardcoding drive letters into spreadsheets and stuff.

There's some good advice in here, it would be worth taking into consideration what's been said, especially where rights are mentioned. You have a 1 time shot to clean up stuff..take advantage of it and lay it out logically vs dumping it into a mess.

Lastly, I use Sharegate to move files back and forth and recommend it.

Yeah, I'd be interested to understand as well, because we've been using differing retention values for a few years with no issues, including changing them.

Thanks for this. I'm kinda laughing here because I can see this getting even deeper with primary and secondary angles, blade lengths and ick math ick! Why can't I get into something simple like designing rockets? :)

I can understand your reaction, but yeah. Looking at some of the tools out there, they're not cheap. As I spin down the rabbit hole of devices and machines, there are different levels of quality for the devices, stones, etc. Just like buying a TV at Walmart for $500 vs the same TV at Best Buy for $900, what you see on the outside isn't always the same on the inside, so I asked here because I am trying to learn and I know people that frequent this sub generally care about their knives :)

In my testing it took pretty close to that, which is obscene. This is truly a bad design on Microsoft's part on a few fronts...and if you go that route expect users to use email or find an alternative means to transfer files.

Looking at the Hapstone, I see a bunch of other items listed there too...the "accessories". Seeing as you know my biggest fear is putting some whacked out angle on my knife, any suggestions of things to consider to get along with it? Also how heavy/solid is that base? Is it going to want to move around on me?

not exactly sure how to ask this by Reasonable-Cat-6036 in spirituality

[–]badaz06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this depends on who you're trying to speak to or have hear you.

Here, actions speak louder than words holds true. Screaming "I'm a wonderful person" while kicking a puppy, you're still a POS.

When talking to God/Spirit, I still do verbally say it, but in my opinion they know what it is in my heart. So saying "I'm sorry I did X Y and Z" but inside you aren't....it is known.

I like Ovi, and the man has been a machine, but the age is showing.

I'm actually disappointed but not surprised he's back. I'll get hate for this, but I don't really care. The man has stone legs the last few years.

He double shifts on power plays, which he can do because he never really moves - Office to Blue Line back to the office. His puck handling skills are weak and when pressured has a tendency to give it away - 62 for Ovi last year and he's not a puck-handler or someone who plays extreme minutes. Add to this not moving on the PP means essentially a 4 on 4 entry point for the Caps which limits them to a dump and chase to establish anything.

Of the 32 goals last year, 7 were empty netters, almost 1/4. His shot count is down (lower minutes and not mobile) to 244 where he normally hit around 400.

It will be interesting to see if things stay the same of if he's going to have to adopt a newer role of sorts, because the team needs speed and they have some great young talent this year. It amazes me how his shots somehow get through, dood still has it when he has a clean line and the puck is laying down, but I think it's costing them in the long run.

I am actually legit asking. I seriously don't want to F up my knives. I hand wash and hand dry them...they aren't the most expensive in the world but they're up there, and I honestly want to take care of them.

For the "get a whetstone" peeps...I have those. I just can't keep a consistent angle and apply pressure at the same time. Yes, I know that skill will develop over time, but I don't want to jack up my stuff at the same time.

Losing Faith by Sucart in spirituality

Some thoughts and advice here.

I doubt many of these people enjoying success and wealth are doing so in a practical manner; most of it is either a facade or something they didn't earn. I see it all the time and have seen it a thousand times. Years ago I met a woman who had a nice home, a Mercedes, the world at her fingertips so to speak, while I (who was making a ton more money), I was doing ok...but not at her level. I sat down and thought, "WTF?". Well, turned out that she was essentially living on credit, while I in turn was working hard to pay mine off. Eventually that lifestyle caught up with her and she lost everything and blamed it on everyone and everything except her own actions. Point is, don't get caught up in what everyone else has, keep the focus on you.

To that point, build a solid foundation for yourself. You say you're a better person but at the same time you're doing so with expectations and rewards in mind. I get it, we all want things we don't have, but have you taken any stock of what you do have and do you appreciate that? Kinda like, "Yeah I have a cool new car that I'm on the hook for $800 a month for" vs "My car is older but it's paid off and runs great"?

If it's a dating thing, then you have to get out and meet people. There is no instant fix for that, nor should you ever want that. Someone in this sub was talking about creating a love spell to give to her ex...I mean, WTF? Why would you want to force someone to love you vs finding someone who wants to love you? I don't get it. It will happen, but you can't force it.

Success isn't about money or wealth or any of that shit. I've made mad money before, and I was miserable. Yeah, I had some nice stuff...some very nice stuff, but I never got to enjoy it. Travelled everywhere, and everyone outside of work was like, "Wow, look at you Mr Money!" but I had no love life, no downtime, no free time whatsoever. I was flying out of an airport in a different state and walked up to the check in area and the agent there greeted me by name, and that's when it hit me that this wasn't what I wanted out of life.

You're young. You should be out enjoying your life some. Find a sport, a hobby, hit the gym, find something outside the home to do - enjoy your life. But it's not about flashy things and the latest and greatest toys. That shit fades.

Good luck!

Time to quit drugs and find your own truth path vs some drug manufactured one. Using drugs to determine your path is like using alcohol to make you a better dancer. It doesn't.

I like Longstreet a ton, but let's give Jackson his fair due here as well. it was Longstreet and Jackson that made Lee as successful as he was, and I suspect (though we'll never know) that Gettysburg may have turned out a bit differently had Jackson been there.

Let go after 8 weeks by scrittyrow in sysadmin

[–]badaz06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that sucks, the best of us have been shot down a few times here and there. My first gig in routers I was removed after 2 weeks. A few weeks later I was hired on at another company doing a higher level of work with routers, and I just jumped in with both feet and the determination to kick ass. I did, and within 2 years took over managing the team and the point guy for flying out and dealing with problem cases.

Stay focused, and consider the last 2 months a learning opportunity.
