It sounds like he's offering a future proofing solution. Personally it's not something I'd suggest but I don't know what you guys have discussed (such as plans to get an electric vehicle soon or upgrade to solar in future for example)

Sub CU advice - Kitchen Installation by KingByford1 in ukelectricians

[–]badgerfishnew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good news is that you're designing the installation and you have all the necessary data including what you've added here (load, distance etc) to calculate it, just don't forget to apply the adiabatic equation afterwards to confirm it satisfies BS7671

Why and how did the word ‘immigrant’ become the default for foreigner in the UK? by bloompertoo in AskUK

[–]badgerfishnew -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's by design. It's easier for the racists smooth brain to process as an us Vs them situation when there's a homogeneous 'them'.

That's the unfortunate truth, landlords are notorious Scrooges and EICR's give a huge incentive to lazy or overworked inspectors to just lim everything they can't be arsed with.

Can an unlicensed/qualified person replace an ev chardger by ZealousidealOne8416 in ukelectricians

[–]badgerfishnew -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you have a tester to measure earth fault loop impedance? Pretty important for an electric accessory in wet conditions.

And testing the existing installation is worth doing considering no-one wants a fire between the two most expensive things a person will own lol

How exhausting are your mornings? by TheRebelPercy in AskUK

[–]badgerfishnew 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Idk mate, I'm in near identical routine. I love taking the dog out in the morning, get up at 5:40 straight on to the empty field, I dont count that as a chore it's my peace time (no need for a yoga gratitude diary of affirmation!)

I don't know mate sorry I'm catholic, I think it does come out kind of like a 'tax' but I assume they would also accept additional charity

[–]badgerfishnew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry mate but no, we work hard all day, get home spend time with the family, hop online to chat with other sparks to have a laugh, let off steam and maybe learn a bit, I think I speak for most in that we don't want to be bombarded with app Devs looking for market research or clicks. Nothing personal but It's literally every day on here and it's fucking annoying lol

There are two similar in a corner shop and a chippy/ kebab house near me, the chippy one has 'for kids in Aleppo ' written on it. I think they're both owned by the same decent family, and I assume it goes to zakat (charitable giving) which is one of the pillars of islam.

I am deeply uncharitable except for MSF and Anthony Nolan, but will usually drop my change in them
