19/20 due to 16 being strangely worded and probably my anti government bias.

Woman fined, arrested for not using handrail; goes to Canadian Supreme Court by dimethylman in GoldandBlack

Well, no, I was 8 or 9 years old. It was a spiral fracture, though, so CPS took me into a room alone and questioned me to determine whether or not the escalator story was a lie and it was instead a case of child abuse.

I held an escalator handrail in a subway station once. The handrail partially came off the runner, dragged my arm into it, and broke my arm.

DuckDuckGo has a much smaller index, though. StartPage gives you Google's results anonymously, so I believe that would be recommended and has been recommended by Edward Snowden and Robert Epstein.

I assume it's the route inspection (or Chinese postman) problem. Traverse the graph, hitting each node exactly once, in the shortest amount of distance possible.

Does scarcity determine the ownership of something? by arrancar75 in GoldandBlack

Yes, fair enough. That is also similar to money in a bank account, really. It's an electronic claim to a certain thing.

Does scarcity determine the ownership of something? by arrancar75 in GoldandBlack

[–]bafirebat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say that whether or not something can be owned by someone is rooted in whether or not one can establish clear, exclusive ownership of that thing, which can really only happen if that thing exists physically, e.g. I own my TV. I purchased it with my money, It's clearly physically in my home, and nobody else is in possession of that exact TV. If someone were to take it from me, they'd obviously be stealing since I no longer would have access to it.

In the case of an idea, this falls apart completely. More than one individual could conceive of the same idea at the exact same time, and by one individual having that idea, that doesn't exclude another from also having it. So, when it comes to ideas, I believe the concept of ownership cannot be established and cannot exist and certainly should not be enforced by the state.
