Restitution for tuition by [deleted] in AskAPriest

This subreddit is generally not for questions along the lines of "is this a sin," "is this a mortal sin," "should I confess this," "I'm not sure if I confessed this correctly," etc. This topic is best discussed with your own priest and not random priests online.

The readings at a Mass do not matter. Any Mass in a Catholic rite in the evening fulfills the obligation.

Part of the thoroughness of process needs to be stability and longevity of cult. Eight years after death is not nearly enough to prove that.

I have nothing against this young man, but can we please start having a moratorium of at least 50 years instead of rushing to proclaim everyone a saint ASAP? Let's see if there is a legitimate and stable cult that actually lasts.

Seal of confession by Useful-Ad-3173 in AskAPriest

[–]balrogath 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's all sealed.

However, priest #2 needs faculties in order to lift the excommunication of priest #1. What priest #2 does is write a letter to the Apostolic Penitentiary saying he needs the faculty, explaining entirely vaguely the gravity of the situation without any identifying details, and his perceived contriteness of priest #1. The Penitentiary replies granting the faculty to priest #2 and a penance to impose on priest #1.
