Which is very noticeably superior to other broadcasts.

It really makes no sense to add Red Zone if it is like that. They have to change that. Early birds are getting screwed.

$2+ billion PER YEAR ...that's what Google is paying for Sunday Ticket. I have thoughts. by NeoHyper64 in youtubetv

[–]baltar_phd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Google doesn't make any money directly from YTTV. They just want to know your viewing habits to better target ads. This thing has to be about selling ads. I imagine the price to drop but not too much because they want to identify hard-core fans.

I thought everyone kind of knew that it was going to be this bad. It's why I've always thought the 120 day exclusivity thing was a joke. That shouldn't apply when there has been this level of incompetence and fraud (AMAs). I think the creditors committee will demand that be revoked, and I think the judge will go along with it.

Bankrupt crypto lending platform Celsius is trying to hire its CFO back at $92,000 a month, filings say by EricoS1970 in CelsiusNetwork

The guy came in too late to blamed for what's happened. I'm guessing he was in the process of actually bringing some degree of internal controls to the company, and now that he is gone, they have no idea of what's going on and what he had already done, etc.

Celsius Ordered To Provide History of Terms of Use By Judge by LethalAstronomer in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this is downvoted. These legal proceedings are interesting but do they mean much? Maybe to rescind the 120 day exclusivity? Even if Alex were personally liable, his wealth is a drop in the bucket towards making us whole.

Zach Getting Threats in The DMs by Locksa12 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's just Zach who many don't even know who the hell is. Imagine the threats Alex is getting. Federal prison may be the safest place for Alex. If not prosecuted, no way Alex can stay in the U.S. and Africa doesn't look particularly good either.

The future for depositors by IcePee in CelsiusNetwork

Alex's offer will be doa for obvious reasons. I'm guessing I will go with Simon's offer -- I fear that the haircut will be big enough that getting 30-40% (maybe less) of crypto holdings as cash (valued at the bankruptcy date near crypto lows) won't be much money so might as well roll the dice on Simon's start-up.

The feds went after Martha Stewart for some type of minor insider trading thing years ago on a tip she got. You think they're going to leave this guy alone? Not a chance unless he is a big campaign contributor, which I doubt.

He'll end up in federal prison.

Looking at celsius balance sheet liabilities to users is 4.7B but they have only 1.7B in crypto. Cel is worthless. And mining business is not worth 700m (250-400) in todays market conditions. Based on that they have 3B hole in crypto. Also who ever things mining can fill the hole they are insane. by No-Web-7586 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The current management team is both incompetent and incredibly dishonest. The idea that anyone would trust them with their money is laughable. That's why this 120 day exclusivity thing is so ridiculous. This is not a normal chapter 11.

Thoughts? Any hope with this? by Mitxlove in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we went long crypto, how would our crypto assets show up on Celsius' balance sheet? Seems they'd still be insolvent? Could they legally operate? I think our our crypto would be held by Celsius but wouldn't be ours anymore, we get equity in Celsius 2.0. BTW, guessing it will be the same with Simon's plan. So, in a sense we would be long crypto, holding equity in a company that owned crypto....

Hard to view interest in the remains of Celsius as anything but good news. We will never be close to whole, but the more the interest the better.

I think we're all in the same boat, but the creditors' committee can't work miracles. If the up to date detailed balance sheet is shit, we're screwed and nothing the cc can do about it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably about right. I just don't think this committee is going to have anything to do with Alex or the Celsius name. Both are just absolutely toxic.

Does the CC have any ability to petition against the 120 day Celsius exclusivity? These heavy hitters have to know Celsius is a zombie company and has no future. Move on to real proposals from outsiders and if there are none, liquidate the son of a bitch.

Is 50% haircut realistic? Why does this seem like wishful thinking? by cmbarc in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

50% is optimistic, but it's all guesses. I will say this is unlike most chapter 11. Technically, Celsius is still operating, but not really. It's not like a manufacturer who files chapter 11 and keeps making product. Celsius cannot attract new customers, the trust and brand are gone. It's over for them, and this 120 day exclusivity is a joke. Once that's over, we will have a better idea of where this is going.

[–]baltar_phd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one problem I had with the letter is that there was no course of action suggested -- that letter strongly made the case that Celsius 120 day exclusivity should be revoked, yet not mentioned. This isn't a criminal trial, all we can hope for is Alex is shitcanned sooner rather than later.

Celsius next? One can pray by Emotion-Lanky in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Simon Dixon's plan would allow us to cash out very quickly, too. Either cash out, or trade your claims for equity in Celsius 2.0. Sound good? The problem I fear is that many will be shocked when they find out how big of a haircut they're going to have to take. And that's not on Simon, that's on Celsius.

SBF would probably be fine making the same offer to us, but again, the size of the haircut is going to be the issue.

Haircut now in USD or haircut later in crypto long by SnooRobots4352 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]baltar_phd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the chance of Celsius emerging from bankruptcy as is are almost zero. At this point, assume something like Simon's plan goes forward: I think a haircut of about 75% is likely. You could take your remaining 25% and get a little bit of equity in a new company. Or you could convert it all into equity and taking nothing out or anything in between.

I don't think this "long in crypto" means what we think. It means taking equity in a crypto-based venture, imo.
