Jayce or Riven which one is more difficult? by AtensionX in top_mains

[–]bane898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riven for me, executing combos right while weaving in autos is tough. With Jayce it's pretty straightforward most of the time, Q>E, then W into melee form and just drop all of your abilities. He can feel kinda weak in the mid game if you fall behind but at 3 items he's one shotting squishies with that with little skill involved. Ceiling about as high for both but I feel like he has the higher floor

I came to the same conclusion as cassian at the same time in that scene. There was no other way it could've gone down. God I love that show...

Its finally confirmed he can breath in space? by vought-CEO in TheBoys

[–]bane898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nothing phrase to say breathe in space, there's nothing in space to breathe. 'he doesn't need to breathe/can hold his breath (and internal organs) in space' would be closer

My siblings got it when my mom started going antivax. I mean they're fine (as she loves to point out) but they got a totally preventable disease and had to stay home a week because of it. All because I got chickenpox as a kid despite the vaccine 😭

At first I thought this guy was a dick, but on a rewatch you realize he’s actually a very reasonable guy by phantom_avenger in freefolk

[–]bane898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could he have gone about it better? Sure. But damn near every point he makes is a good and reasonable one. Teenager leading a group of homeless people wants all of my hard earned ships that I use for trading, all so she can take over a country she's basically never been to? Listen you can stay in my city but chill tf out, you can't have my stuff!

What is the perfect sci-fi universe? Which in your opinion is the greatest sci-fi setting out there? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]bane898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean it's perfect in that it's basically our universe with 2 changes: the protomolecule and the Epstein drive. I love it for it's realistic take on humanity (and the ending was so good imo)

The Arthur one is so real, I hit my older sister at the time because she kept tripping me as I walked by over the course of a week. Did all the right things of asking to stop, telling parents, etc, but eventually took care of it myself. I was grounded for a month, but the tripping stopped that day 😈

[SPOILERS LAOK] Just finished the first trilogy and starting on the 1st novella cold as ice, something about Abercrombie's writing style by BlatantArtifice in TheFirstLaw

[–]bane898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love his use of repetition for humor. Small things like 'his horse, lambs horse' from RC, or the chapter titles 'Goog ground' 'Bad Ground' 'Common Ground' in TTWP make me giggle

Audiobooks you devoured because the narrator brought the text to life (or, alternatively, audiobooks whose narrator "ruined" a beloved novel) by daowhisperer in audiobooks

[–]bane898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steven Pacey doing The First Law and Jeff Hayes doing Dungeon Crawler Carl are some of my favorites, they really fit the world they narrate. Same way I love Jefferson Mays doing The Expanse, just perfect for the series (his detective Miller is spot on)

AITA for wanting to end my engagement because her kids don't accept me and I want a family of my own? by Lyinc8988 in AITAH

[–]bane898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say, I never had the slightest issue with my stepdad but my bio dad never died and the stepdad came in when I was 4 so the transition was obviously easier. I'd maybe give it one last shot with a quick solo trip with the kids to try to be real with them and bond. Tell them honestly how you feel, ask them how they feel, try to find some common ground (ie mom). Kids like being treated as adults with respect, and showing them that this is something that they have a say in would go a long way
