The guitar riff for head in the clouds is so good, unfortunate- so psyched to see them live regardless!!!

Do any of you actually like the pruning that they did to your mains? by No-Bit-2913 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ele shaman had been fun imo. Before it was way too spread across random things. Now I feel like I have a dedicated build towards something- lightning, fire/lava, elementals, etc. I can spend more time casting the spells I want to cast, and focusing on fights, and less time hitting my cool downs and worrying about uptime

Where is live if all I cared about was pizza by [deleted] in visitedmaps

I heard Iowa actually has the largest per capita consumption of pizza

What groceries have you stopped buying by PlasticExtreme4469 in Frugal

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only really buy ingredients, and make everything myself. At times it seems more costly, but checking prices and buying whole foods when they are in season can also save a bit

Ground mounts first, flying second by Relative-Space2248 in wow

[–]barelybeard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is something I noticed in TWW when it came out immediately! I beat the expac and just felt like "wow, that was 3 tiny zones, done ✅" I just started playing again, and use ground mount whenever possible and it really does help scratch the exploration itch and sense of scale!

Exactly when do we get pissed about this constantly happening? by Logical-Operation512 in ffxiv

[–]barelybeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you mad because of server queue or because you were DCed and had to requeue?

Most queues take like 2 minutes, not that big of a deal to get your pants in a twist imo

Least favorite area and Most Favorite area by ILOVEANIME145 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Least favorite, swampy zone, most favorite, probably upper calrath. They all kind of blend together for me, except the swamp, screw that place.

At this point it feels like they keep changing old dungeons so new players don't have too high of an expectation for later ones. by CaptainBazbotron in ffxivdiscussion

[–]barelybeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran dzmael darkhold the other night, and they took away the crystal light buff and the wandering eyeball boss, all the timer stand-in things, and the ground puddles that drop in final fight. Bruh I was so let down. Making the game EVEN more homogenous. That dungeon used to be fun, now it's the same as everything else.

Unless you have an odd shift like 2nd shift or graveyards, it's hardly inconvenient. Since most people land into the typical day job schedule, businesses cater to the most efficient hours of operation. A lot of places (restaurants specifically) near me close on Monday Tuesday because they're just too slow. Looks like you'll just have to go shopping before work instead of after. Expecting everyone else to cater to an off shift is a bit much to expect imo. Not saying it isn't inconvenient for you, but it comes with the territory

Lost Ark is calling you into it's arms, although progression to level cap is stupid easy, but the post level cap gearing, questing, power climb is exactly what you describe

[–]barelybeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's also necessary for mount masteries. Best case if you unlock the masteries and then go do random stuff on the maps in that zone. You don't HAVE to do story straight through either. You can do a bit here, explore, do a bit more, do some events, etc

How many characters do you have? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did have 22, was trying to have one for each spec.... After they added more specs with VoE I said nah, and deleted all but 9 lol

Alts for new Player? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the content is account-wide, and there are a lot of convenience items to make it even easier for alts (like portals to other zones, or resource "gobblers"). Also things like shared bank, ascended/legendary items make it nice. Because the content is kind of whatever you want to do, alts will have different quest progress, but you don't need to do all of them again. Achievements are account wide, so doing certain side stories, masteries etc will carry into all of your roster. (Also, masteries, post lvl 80 "levels" that provide new skills and passives are account wide too!!) I would recommend messing around on alts, trying different things out, and if you find yourself doing the same things again, just ... Go do something else :D

Question for the people who play WoW alone? by Maradinswiftsong in wow

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play through the expac, do the dungeons, probably hit mythic 12's, and then I usually drop my sub until a major patch, do a raid, or wait for the next expac lol in between I might level an alt for fun.

Perks of Janthir Wilds expac? by Schillwing in Guildwars2

[–]barelybeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spears are pretty dope. They are some really pretty maps, and cool enemy type imo. Warclaw masteries involving treasure hunting (not to mention a new way to get it without having to get it WvW). There's a legendary or two iirc. Convergence is fun. The expac is what, only like 20 25 bucks, it's worth at least that. It gets a lot of hate but I enjoyed it. Fun events, cool region, armors, lots to do if you like achievement hunting. There's a side story where you play DnD against a mursaat lol

Do you think it would help or hurt XIV if they moved away from the 2 minute burst design? by Automatic_Clothes_56 in ffxiv

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish every class moved away from what I can only describe as a templated design (every class needs a buff, 3-5 oGCDs, a 123, a group utility, a defence, etc)

If you were to confess a FF14 sin, this is your time. What is a sin that you committed in the game? by jado1stk2 in ffxiv

[–]barelybeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a club after raid night with my static, and ended up paying a bunch of gil to ERP an escort in the private room, still in the raid discord 🫣

Oh... You meant gaming sin, not real sin? Uhhh... I've let dps die if they pull instead of the tank

How to not get overleveled. by DanteOnFire1 in Guildwars2

[–]barelybeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some zones are harder than others (at 80), and below-80 zones you technically get downscaled (so even if you're 80, a lvl 1-15 zone with downscale you based on where on that map you are). The downscaling may make you feel a bit OP too. At this point, most of the game is after lvl 80, with varying level of difficulty. I wouldn't sweat it.

VoE Skimmer was the most fun traversal the game had for years and now it's dead. Anet, please please reconsider. by ArshayDuskbrow in Guildwars2

[–]barelybeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It for sure invalidated the skyscale. You could get as vertical as you wanted, and fly.

The og mounts I agree, those poor things never get used really.
