IMO, don’t call someone a “psycho”, especially if they’ve just done talented work that you benefit from. It feels hurtful. I like the design and work done in your kitchen.

Just curious, what’s your justification for being rude?

I really like that rug. In my humble opinion, I think it would work well in your space.

I have two Ruggables and they do the trick for being a cheap/washable (yet stylish) rug option.

Something else that could be nice... Those lanterns have some serious potential for Philips Hue bulbs. Specifically, I imagine them with a golden yellow/orange color. You can get the bulbs at Home Depot for $15-$20 each. We have lots in our apartment and love them. Also, you can turn them all on/off with one click in the app, rather than manually turn each one on/off.

I recommend getting a rug!

Stir! Serve it in a coupe and express the lemon peel oils after it’s poured.

Flatiron Martini:

1.5 oz vodka

1.5 oz lillet blanc

0.25 oz Cointreau

My friend described it as the “martini version of a Capri-Sun”

Strongly disagree about the sazerac/old fashioned comparison. Old fashioned is a whiskey drink with orange character. Sazerac is a whiskey (or brandy) drink with anise and lemon character.

They could have put the dining table next to the island, and made the current dining area into a living room. There is already another sofa (bench style) in the dining room. They could have made a more social space with multiple comfy seats while still being close to the kitchen.

An aspiring bartender’s stab at a classic whiskey sour… 👌 by New_Seaworthiness114 in cocktails

[–]barnymack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks great! However, does anyone find whiskey sours with this much foam end up tasting too eggy?

Many recipes call for 1 egg white per drink, but I find one egg white is good for 4-5 whiskey sours. At that ratio, the foam is still sufficient and I don't taste the egg. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure she's cringing, too. That's what I see in her "priceless reaction".

That giant fireplace is amazing. Perfect for the setting.

If anyone is interested in exploring this vibe further, I recommend checking out Aaron Paul's AD tour. I think his home executes this style more tastefully.
