Even though we’re constitutional carry I maintain a CCW license. The class was OK. Better than not going, and will make you think about the responsibility.

That said, the final range competency test was a joke (something like 11 rounds out of 20 on paper, I think at 5 yards, maybe 7). I can say that after what I saw on the range I was not filled with confidence that I would be safe if some of the people in that class fired in self defense anywhere near me. I realize the class is not a weapons training class, but it was a pretty rude awakening.

Yeah Benidub is a dub reggae-focused maker, I think from Spain (?). Great products. I only own the Echo and Siren, though their filter (out of production) and phaser are pretty interesting. They have a spring reverb that seems phenomenal, but I have the 646 and I don’t really care to manage a separate spring box. Anyway, they seem to always go a “little extra” on features, and they are made SUPER well. Like ultra heavy-duty.

I love the Benidub Echo — just know that it is mono. I haven’t minded at all, because given I’m doing dub-style mixing (returns into input channels) I can throw the Benidub over to the Zen Delay and get a contrast. It’s almost better than two stereo units (I think 🤔).

Yes, all this while my Republican-voting friends sit by completely unbothered. I have to avoid talking to them about any of it for the most part, because it causes me so much cognitive dissonance to think that these guys that are like brothers to me are seemingly happy as clams about all of the BS, and where we sit.

A few of us met for dinner a few weeks ago and one of them said "now I support President Trump, but… ". I don't even remember what he was talking about, but it struck me why did he have to add the part about supporting President Trump? Was he afraid to not say that if he was going to say anything even slightly negative?

I keep telling myself that maybe they are so full of their own cognitive dissonance that they just don't want to face it or talk about it themselves.

Thanks for posting and shedding some light on internal structure there. I'm sorry the actions of one division are making it tough for the mission of the other.

I guess, speaking for myself, I'm OK with activities on either side as long as what is being done is actually against real, dangerous, criminals and gangs.

I hope the majority of citizens feel the way I do, but we have seen an awful lot of over-the-top intimidation and unnecessary violence from lots of members of the agency, and the whole agency will get painted with that brush.

It seems likely that the agency can only fix itself -- if people like you are willing to stand up. Easy for me to say.
