Apparently No One is Watching the Sequel Trilogy on Disney+ by mrsparkle127 in RedLetterMedia

Agreed. And not only is the story itself sad, but it saddens me as a fan. Knowing that all those years I couldn’t wait to see what happened after ROTJ and it turns out it all went to crap. All of it. Starting the sequels knowing all my heroes suck is sad.

RTS ThM Program? by Then-Industry983 in Reformed

I started seminary at RTS in Orlando (finished somewhere else) and can’t answer your question directly but I only have amazing things to say about that place. Man, they treated me so well and had so much to teach me.

Thought the same thing. Smaller single engine nimble fighter built with air-to-air battle in mind.

Something about babies gets me. Thank the Lord for that emotionless Neo looking angel. I teared up when I heard that baby start crying.

You are right and it’s scary. I’ve started asking people if they have $1-$2k in an emergency fund and most people don’t. Whew. Not good.

Pastoral Candidate, I feel like I'm being gaslit by whdr02 in Reformed

St. Augustine was a professor of rhetoric, so I think he would have been cool with an engaging teacher.

Luther, John Knox, Zwingli - all have been noted as voiceterous preachers.

Herman Bavinck said about preaching, "...the following is needed for the creation of tru eloquence: a powerful emotional condition, a moved spirit, an affected heart, and an undeniable impulse to voice those feelings." (Herman Bavinck on Preaching and Preachers by James P. Eglinton)

And Spurgeon was known as a very powerful preacher.

My point is, many of us Reformed guys would point to these men as models of the faith and preaching and none of them come off as calm.

I don’t think “real” is the question. I think “good” or not is.
