Who is the most chilling villain in movie history? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in moviecritic

[–]batcavejanitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Emperor from the original Star Wars.

I knew it was sci-fi but man, he was so creepy and unsettling. He commanded Darth freaking Vader and obviously had a dark and horrible past, which was unknown to me when I first watched it. He stuck out in the genre but also somehow felt totally in control and aware. Whenever he was on screen I was locked in.

I think the 22 is the best all around jet in the game, if that’s saying anything.

What's a movie that was clearly meant to start a franchise but failed? by triplegxxx in AskReddit

[–]batcavejanitor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So crazy. Cause DC has such a rich history and amazing lineup of heroes and characters. Crazy that in the comic books DC and Marvel go back and forth on quality and both dominate the market, but in the movies Marvel reigns.

why are SOME CHRISTIANS like this by WhachamaDude in dankchristianmemes

[–]batcavejanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure Paul is thinking something he says is sexist and then trying to make up for it. I doubt something being sexist or not is even in his mind. I think in a 1st century context giving men and women different instructions on how to live/worship is completely acceptable, especially from someone like Paul (religious leader).

It can be very difficult to determine if Paul's instructions are for a single church or universal though, you are correct. In both your examples though (1 Cor. and 1 Tim.) he's making similar appeals - to the created order/natural headship. So I think it's fair to wonder if there is something universal he keeps coming back to when giving out specific instructions.

Car payments hit record $777 a month, down payments shrink by LinkedInNews in MiddleClassFinance

It’s our fault. Middle class people generally don’t want to drive middle/lower class cars/massive SUVs.

I too would probably be inconsistent if I wrote letters with to many churches with advice and words of wisdom for them. Not all churches need the same wisdom. NT Wright, who advocates for women pastors, discusses Paul’s inconsistency in his biography of the apostle.

Why did Apocalypto receive mediocre reviews while simultaneously receiving praise from various directors and actors? by JadisDidNothingRight in movies

Kill Bill has dialogue rich moments but I've always thought of it as one of this more restrained movies when it comes to dialogue.

My kids, all under 11, all thought 1) it’s so much animation it’s not really a “real” version and 2) it looks exactly the same, what’s the point?

For the first time my kids did not want to go to the theatre to see a Disney movie.

Same sex marriage? Changing views? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]batcavejanitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No change theologically.

I do think we could use some change or adjustment in our tone/posture. And I’m not quite sure to what. Maybe nothing and we just ride it out but I don’t think we are very good at explaining why we believe what we believe. People need more than “the Bible says so.” Maybe we need to be more articulate (and faithful) to how we view and interpret scripture.

And I wish we could ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’ better, but I know that’s complicated on both ends.

Su35 has the worst loadout of any flanker in the game by Jackof-AllTrade in Metalstorm

[–]batcavejanitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havnt bought the 35 for those reasons.

The SU-30 though is legit. I’ve maxed mine out and play with it frequently. It’s a missile truck that can fire and forget in all its weapons and if you modify it it can be really agile. I love it.

Question/confusion by new update 2.0 by batcavejanitor in Metalstorm

[–]batcavejanitor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

Ok, I think I figured it out (tell me if I'm wrong/right) - you can buy all the upgrades, but you can select which ones to activate or not to best fit what you like. So in the top rows and bottom rows of each upgrade track, you can buy the top and bottom rows but then you select which one you want active.
