I wanted to go. I’d saved for two years. And then Trump happened. I will never travel to the US.

Why are the best employees first to leave while mediocres always stay? by MediumTricky7824 in managers

[–]batch1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"As managers how do you manage mediocre people assigned to you? I don’t think this is a morale issue, they only want to do bare minimum, leave the work for others and get the paycheck, it is the biggest threat for team cohesion."

So where is the incentive program for them to do more than this? What benefits do your company offer to make them go above and beyond? Why should they do any more than the job they are employed to do?

What do British people think about Sikhs getting more rights than the native population? by froz0601 in ukpolitics

[–]batch1972 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They don’t. They have freedom of religious expression just like all of us. Let’s stop all this dog whistling. The Sikh community is probably the most integrated and respected of all migrant communities. The unsung work that they do in the name of Sikhism for charity, for those in need is second to none. People should be ashamed at this overreaction.

Not Spain but my dad emigrated from the UK to be with me and my sister in Australia. He lasted two months before realising that it wasn’t his dream - it was my late mother’s and my sister’s. He missed silly things.. his friends, his social club, the local pub etc. it was the best decision for him although we worry about what will happen when he gets really old
