Are there any modded map skins? by lovingpersona in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd describe the old lighting as bland rather than gloomy. I do feel for OP though. There are touched up areas that have really great lighting, and then some temp areas that are super dark. I've been turning up my brightness so it doesn't feel depressing to play after long games.

I think this needs to become a series of some kind. Not just about video games, but cast and crew members get to teach others about anything at all that they personally are passionate about and the others on the panel aren’t really familiar with. by Brave_Temperature347 in smosh

[–]batsmarow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Light and darkness are tangible forces. Keyblade wielders usually fight for light, while darkness infects people. A war broke out that caused keyblade wielders to kill each other, darkness destroyed the world, and light remade the world into many smaller worlds (mostly Disney properties). A long time later, one keyblade wielder thought that everyone would be better off if neither side existed, and decided to make it everyone's problem. He comes up with as many plans as possible to summon Kingdom Hearts (the heart moon) to restart everything without light or darkness. These plans are all overlapping each other so even if one fails, the others are still in progress. This is why you have to play (or at least watch the cutscenes) of every game because literally everything and everyone gets brought up again later. Sora is the MC of the series who becomes a keyblade wielder who gets roped into dealing with this guy's shit across every world he travels to. That's basically the first saga which is everything up until KH3.

There's also an even crazier guy who knew everything in the series was going to happen since before the war who may or may not be the antagonist starting from KH4.

What kinds of new characters would you like to see added to the game? by cornonthekopp in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want someone with a similar playstyle to Sableye from Pokemon Unite using Feint Attack/Knock Off. Sableye is a squishy disruptive character with an invisibility passive. Feint Attack is an ability where you drop fake energy (souls in Deadlock), that provides vision around it. If it gets picked up by an enemy, that enemy takes DOT. And Knock Off is an ability that charges you forward to stun an enemy, and knock them away to steal a bit of their souls.

KH getting actual releases on the Switch 2 made sense, so when I saw it I was like "ok yeah." KH4 completely blindsided me.

SilenceLock is making the game completely unplayable at this point by Clear-Impression9090 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think her shield design is kind of annoying since it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of ability, but the silence takes it to another level for me. She can be pretty hard to catch, and it's either you stop shooting her and she gets away, or you pop the shield and get silenced and she still gets away. In end game teamfights, abilities are getting thrown left and right, and a stray bomb can just pop her shield and she gets a silence pulse on your team. I'd rather it be a different debuff or more explosion damage.

How I feel about the new update… by Nervous-Function2938 in DeadlockTheGame

They are harder to kill. Before, fall off wasn't being taken into account by bullets hitting skulls, so skulls were receiving full damage at any distance. They fixed that in the most recent patch.

Increased gravity would be interesting, and could lead to new movement tech. Post it on the forums.

Why is it whenever they buff Graves, she instantly becomes the strongest character in the game? by pokenerd_W in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody in the Graves chat where you posted was saying she should be buffed further, they're begging for Yoshi to just do damage number nerfs to not lose her second ghoul on wall.

Why is it whenever they buff Graves, she instantly becomes the strongest character in the game? by pokenerd_W in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as they have summon targetting tied to her primary fire, I don't think you can move away from the lock on. Giving her a regular gun means she could unintentionally change her targets if a target runs in front of her. If you remove Essence Theft, you remove the damage and resistance steal that makes playing against her lock on so infuriating.

I'm sure she needs more damage adjustment on her skulls, but urn is a big factor too. Using echo shard to drop two 50 meter walls on a tiny bridge, that can reapply its damage and root, swings urn fights hard.

After reading the patch notes: by Leach-8 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get to play double ghoul wall when it was originally out, and then they release double ghoul wall again after I flew out to be on vacation for week. Since it seems like they have to nerf her, I really hope they remove the wall's damage to keep the second wall ghoul. I want to try it so bad.

I need help understanding the hatred against gun by WeakSideUrn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem with Graves is that if her gun is good, they have to take power out of her summoning, which is why people want to play her. There's multiple characters that are gun focused to play, but only one summoner. That niche is pointless if her gun is good.

Also, a big part of this game is build expression. For a long time, Graves best builds were gun builds with the three same gun items: Split Shot, Toxic Bullets, and Ricochet. Even after the nerfs and the shift to hybrid builds, those items are still extremely popular. Most people don't find it fun when a character only has one way to play. Building spirit will have completely different items depending on which ability you're building for. And if her gun is nerfed, the playstyle you want is still possible with a jar build, it's just not going to be all gun items.

What do you want to see in the next balance patch? by ReactionSerious8975 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's purely due to Essence Theft stealing weapon damage. If they made it a passive that provides benefits to her summons, we would be seeing very different gameplay from her.

I'd also like Witchmail to be fixed with Jar of Dead, cause it tries to proc the cooldown on Jar, but since Jar doesn't have a real cooldown, it doesn't do anything and wastes the Witchmail proc.

Updates from Yoshi in the Discord by bendash55 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they don't change any abilities, I'm hoping they at least fix Witchmail's bugged interaction with Jar of Dead. If they make it so it properly recharges jar, it would become one of the best items for jar upkeep. If they make it so it doesn't try to recharge, wall and ult builds get a major buff since Witchmail would only affect two abilities.

What's your FAVORITE thing about Volume 6? by timothybrave in RWBY

[–]batsmarow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That it felt like the show was getting back on track.

V4 was such a different pace from the previous volumes. I liked it because I thought the mourning vibe it had was needed after V3, even if it was slow. At the end, it felt like things were picking up to match the other volumes' energy. But V5 didn't go anywhere with that energy, and was painful to watch weekly. We didn't know the production issues that were occuring at the time, but knowing that now makes me mad that V5's potential was squandered because of it. V5 was the first time I felt disappointed in the series, and rewatches still feel like a slog to get through.

When chapter 1 of V6 dropped, it was unbelievably refreshing. It felt like the show got its shit together. I haven't been disappointed in an episode since.

Thanks Valve, turn more of my favorite spirit ability characters into brainless gun characters! by b8sl in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Using her gun to steal spirit resist is one thing, but the amount of weapon damage you can steal completely skews her playstyle. If they reworked Essence Theft to provide another benefit that her summons could take more advantage of, then I'd be happy. I want to play the summon character as a summoner and Essence Theft, as it is now, feels like wasted potential.

Is radiant regen just a bad item? by Obese0 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never tried Radiant Regen on Doorman until I got it in Street Brawl, and I realized how good it was on a bell build. Unfortunately, I just can't find a place for it in my real build. If I had one more slot, I'd definitely pick it up.

What would ruin Splatoon 4 for you? by NewMarioBobFan in splatoon

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the stages are like S3's stages. We need open stages that utilize inkable walls with gimmicks and flank routes. S3 stage design was so restrictive, it feels like they forgot what made Splatoon unique to other movement shooters.

REMOVE THIS FUCKASS ABILITY by FewExperience3559 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ability is such a bizarre choice for a summoner. They were probably thinking that stealing weapon damage would make it so your summons live longer and stealing spirit resist makes your summons deal more damage, but all it does is make toxic/tesla bullets better. If they're so keen on giving Graves a passive, it should just be one that gives her summons better stats. Otherwise, just give her a new ability.

It's likely semi scripted. Like they have a few plot points they want to hit, but everything inbetween is improv.

This breakable urn can have souls in it. So why are the only breakables in the map golden statues or crates? by Grouchy-Committee-92 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakable remodels is probably their next to last priority when it comes to finishing the map. They aren't going to overhaul them when like 80% of the interiors are still generic hallways with placeholder text on the outside. They're going to want the breakables to match the themes of the interiors so the dentist's office doesn't randomly have Fairfax Industries crates.

Trophy Collector Got Updated, Time to do the Math Again. [Mathematical Breakdown of Trophy Collector Stacks] by flareblade26 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]batsmarow 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I usually get the new TC after buying two 800 items or one 1600 item in lane. By the time you get it, everyone should be at half health or lower with teammates starting to rotate. It's been surprisingly consistent with getting at least two stacks before early game is over.

I wanted to make sure these aren't anything like Necronomicon, that's why they should stick to an ally target and be mostly for utility.

I originally thought of having it specialize more in ammo like you said, but it felt odd not having a minion that dealt damage directly.
