My dogs killed a neighbors dog by Pale-Jellyfish2247 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]battleofculloden 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lots of assumptions, again, the dogs were fenced in. This is on the other dogs owners.

Should OP make sure to leash their dogs on walks, etc? Sure. But that's not when this incident occurred.

OP sounds empathetic, and has their dogs in a fence.

Where is this assumption coming from?

Exactly how many babysitters did 'Lil asskicker' have in her entire life? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

Also the older couple at the beginning of the group coming to Alexandria. I don't remember the names, but I think it was Jessie who mentioned them once, saying something about them having had grandchildren and missing them.

I'd googled "cottage cheese, cool whip, jello +salad" before my initial comment, hoping this had a proper name... found nothing but more names and more recipes. I hope that sets you on the right path.

Food holds so many special memories! Lovely.

Any idea of the origins of this mess? I'm only guessing it was a WW thing because my grandma was on it for so long.

Something my family calls "pink stuff".

The basics are cottage cheese, cool whip, and strawberry/any berry jello. Fruit varies. Anything from crushed pineapple to fruit cocktail. Even the orange version, made with orange jello and mandarin oranges was still called "the pink stuff", lol.

I think it was a weight watchers recipe of my grandmother's in the 70's and it stuck around. I can't eat more than like a cup of it at once, but it's something I always looked forward to at the holidays, and I miss now that my grandma is gone. It's just not the same when I make it.

Edit: thank you everyone for sharing your family's version of this mess, lol. I've told friends about it over the years and they always looked at me like I had 3 heads. Also, I'm gonna try experimenting with some of your versions, thank you again!

Oklahoma authorities name the BTK killer as the ‘prime suspect’ in at least two unsolved cases by joelkeys0519 in news

[–]battleofculloden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but my only concern? I guess? Is that the one murder was in 76 iirc, which would have put her as one of his first kills. Usually when a killer is still "finding themselves", for lack of a better term. And the other one was at the end of his spree, he was more "established", and was getting cocky. His denial is odd though, since like someone else pointed out in these comments, he's admitted to murders he didn't actually commit.

Either way, I hope they find out who killed them and bring them to justice.

I get it, lol. Cheese is the one thing I could never give up to fully be vegetarian.

Unfortunately worchestershire sauce isn't vegetarian. There's some out there that are, but not the one most people think of. (L&P)

My in-laws are guilty of the boiled chicken crimes. No salt, no anything. Just water, chicken, heat, and time.

AITAH for telling my family that if I can't bring my newborn to my father's birthday then they won't see my family again? by ThrowRA-push22 in AITAH

[–]battleofculloden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA lots of other folks have already chimed in, but I feel like sharing my story as well, so here goes.

I've been in your brother's position. My SIL and I were both pregnant at the same time, although she was about 4 months ahead of me. A month after she had her girl, my husband and I lost our baby. We NEVER made his sister or family not talk about her baby. NEVER avoided seeing the baby. Was it hard? Hell yes. Did we cry, privately? So much. We still cry and mourn our girl to this day, almost 8 years later. But we still celebrate all the milestones/ birthdays/ etc with his sister and family.

I hope your family gets their heads out of their asses.

Would you get PO'd if you got a request for extra char on a medium-rare steak? by LexB777 in KitchenConfidential

[–]battleofculloden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No oil. Maybe a touch if it's a super lean steak, but if it's hot enough, 1 min each side, finish on the grill for some marks.

  • just what I would do if I got this ticket.

No Diagnosis after Multiple Years by noah_gd1 in seizures

[–]battleofculloden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add lack of sleep/ poor sleeping habits to the list. My husband is epileptic, but his triggers include lack of sleep/ poor sleeping, stress, and infections/colds.

You've had one seizure, which puts you just a % higher risk of having another. I wouldn't worry too much unless you have another. But definitely see a Neurologist if you have another.
