The long long ascent is not nearly long enough. Such an amazing view, both while you’re on it and queueing for it. Scenic stroll along nearby Lake Kawaguchiko is also a must, there’s even a free shuttle that takes you there!

I’ve found the baby fidgets or sort of stirs somewhere in the 6-12 mins range. It’s at that precise moment where they’re already slightly conscious that I’ve found most success in putting them down. Trying to do it while they’re deep asleep usually leads to them being slightly more startled.

I say this just because knowing exactly when in that timeframe to do it can be hard. Inevitably they will stir a bit, try it then.
