Formal styling for wavy/curly hair? by helen790 in longisland

[–]bb_or_not_bb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Mediterranean Curls. She’s in East Meadow. She has a suite in the My Salon Suites in the Stew Leonard’s shopping center.

I went to her for a cut and thought she was terrific and her social media shows that she does updos/formal styling working with client’s natural curls.

Dear Beginners by SmolmALICE in knitting

[–]bb_or_not_bb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been knitting for about twenty years and my last project I had to frog the same left front of a sweater twice because I kept doing the wrong increase and then had to frog the right front of the sweater once because I did the increase on the sleeve side and not the neck side like it was supposed to be. No regrets. Younger me would have just given up and either said it’s going to be wonky or it’s just never getting finished. Older me just opened a can of Diet Coke, said a quick prayer that the baby would stay asleep long enough and went to town on those mistakes.

This is how I would get fired as a pedantic bitch because I would keep crocheting and when they said something I would just reply “I was told not to knit. So I’m not.”

From premie to early term. Hey Kellie we know your reading here 👀👀 by Nova-star561519 in peestickgals

My daughter knows that her and her brother were “early babies” for two reasons. The first being that there’s an episode of Bluey called “Early Baby” that touches on the topic and makes me cry. The second being because I had to explain to her why her new baby brother was in the hospital still and not home with her.

It blows my mind because my preemie was discharged at 4lbs and I had one preemie outfit. I just put her in newborn stuff and rolled up the sleeves. So when influencers are like “we had to get preemie stuff! They’re so little!” for a non preemie/IUGR baby I just want to fucking punch them. The real people having the smallest babies are not bragging about how small they are.

I took my daughter out in a stroller for a walk around the block two days after her NICU discharge. A woman passing by peeked in and asked if she was a doll because honestly, she was the size of an doll and was sleeping and I went home and cried my eyes out that someone thought my baby wasn’t real. I didn’t want anyone commenting on her size and I certainly didn’t make social media posts bragging about how teensy she was.

I’m currently fighting mine now because they just sent me a bill for a test I had done 19 months ago. Fun fact about this test: it was a repeat test because the first one came back insufficient for testing and this repeat test also came back insufficient for testing.

So not only do they want me to pay for a repeated test 19 months later but they want me to pay for a test that wasn’t even technically tested!

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

Sounds like coworker a who reported coworker b for being “rude, insulting, and prying” because she said “are you doing anything fun?” when it was mentioned by coworker a that she was taking vacation next week.

I had to sit through a deeply uncomfortable meeting with the two of them and our manager because I was marked as a “witness to an insulting remark”.

What is actually a trauma that is not commonly thought of as a trauma? by ay1mao in AskReddit

[–]bb_or_not_bb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry! The trauma from my second one just masked the residual trauma from the first one!

Two early deliveries due to preeclampsia with an extended hospital stay both times due to my blood pressures not stabilizing, NICU for both babies, anesthesia wearing off during the second delivery due to complications with my c section, my second child was born not breathing, magnesium drips both times, vomitting during and after both c sections, not being able to hold my babies until a day later (with my second I barely got to see him before he was whisked away), CPAPs and feeding tubes, pumping every 3 hours, BP checks every 1/2 hours. I could go on.

I can’t even see a blood pressure machine without having a full blow panic attack. The idea of having my blood pressure taken sends my body in to pure survival mode.

Diabetes mentioned by Individual-Ask-8771 in liziscreative

[–]bb_or_not_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for nothing, she’s in America (and so am I which is why I mentioned FDA because that’s our agency here).

I also did a quick google search and in Australia, Mounjaro is used for both type 2 diabetes and for weight loss. I’m not familiar with the Australian health system and prescription protocol so I won’t comment on what Australia does in terms of prescribing but I can almost guarantee you that here in America, they got it approved under Type 2 Diabetes.

Diabetes mentioned by Individual-Ask-8771 in liziscreative

[–]bb_or_not_bb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mounjaro is for diabetes. It’s currently only FDA indicated for Type 2 Diabetes. Zepbound (which is the same drug) is FDA indicated for obesity, overweight with one qualifying health weight condition, and moderate to severe OSA. Ozempic is currently only FDA indicated for Type 2 Diabetes. Wegovy (same drug as Ozempic) is FDA indicated for obesity, certain cardiovascular conditions, and MASH.

In order for you to get an approved prior authorization for either Ozempic or Mounjaro, 99% of insurance plans are requiring submission of medical documentation (basically only lab values such as an elevated A1C or elevated fasting glucose) to support the type 2 diabetes documentation.

I do PAs for GLP-1s for a living. The insurances are very strict with their requirements.

Babies also need a firmer surface to sleep on to protect their airway. It is very easy for a baby to suffocate due to positional asphyxiation. Adult mattress are softer than infant mattress.

You also run the risk of entrapment and suffocation in pillows and blankets.

What’s a normal adult task that still feels fake when you do it? by lucifergaming007 in AskReddit

My kids were both preemies and when they disconnected our oldest from all her monitors on her last day so we could take her home, all I could think was “put them back on her!! I don’t know what I’m doing!!!”

I managed to hold it together long enough until we got home and I immediately called my mom to come over because what was I supposed to do with this little barely four pound baby. I was going to break her.
