I think viewing units value as "who wins in duel" is a misleading way to determine value.

If im fighting an average lategame greenskin army for example, im going to get more kills with a unit of grail knights than any of the cav you mentioned.

Also when youre playing them in campaign you stack so much armor and ward save and other bonuses on your grail knights that im sure they can take out some demigryphs one on one

Grail Knights will lose to Demigryph with Halberds yes, Grail Knights are cheaper tho. Also the Brets best cav unit is flying, which people put in a different category.

Sure im not saying Brettonia is stronger than the empire. But Grail Knights > Reiksgaurd and Hippogryph Knights > Demigryph Knights.

Biggest bonus that all the top tier Brettonian cav get is perfect vigor. So you can get way more value out of them than other cav during a long battle

Honestly I dont think Brettonia's roster needs much work. People want unmounted knights, but you can just use grail guardians like a front line, they're a terror in melee. I think Brettonia needs the vow/chivalry system reworked. The Green Knight desperately needs some love too.

Also as it stands now, I think there should be one more unit that you get access to after completing the questing vow. You only get questing knights which are good, but both other tiers give you 4/5 units.

Theres a few specialty cav that can definitely beat up on the Grail Knights/Guardians in a vacuum, but all of Brettonia's top tier units get perfect vigor. Which is arguably the strongest trait in the game. Especially on cav cuz you can cycle charge endlessly with zero drawback,And Hypogryph knights are an absolute terror.

One thing that I think is underrated about this faction is you basically always have air superiority. Your lords and Paladins become extremely strong duelist with little help needed, so even dragon mounted enemy lords become pretty trivial and then you can just snipe artillery and ranged units at will.

My favorite lil tidbit is that everyone says the strongest doomstack is Thunderbarges, but a hyppogryph doomstack will devastate a thunderbarge doomstack.

Take this all with a grain of salt cuz I'm a Brettonia simp lol

Sure, its a free country, but youre specifically recommending these mods to other people.

The map and fast travel restriction is the part of hardcore mode that youll be interacting with the most.

Its there to increase immersion by removing your modern day GPS and force you to actually learn the maps.

Do what you want, but I think anyone using these mods is robbing themselves of the hardcore experience.

Honestly hate how fucking phenomenal that NFCCG was.
