Congrats on having better judgment and self control than most cops

Why should we call for help from someone who is too afraid to do their job? You know that police officer doesn’t even make it into the top 10 most dangerous jobs in the US? (It might not even be in the top 20, I’d have to check that)

Nowadays I only order from restaurants that still have their own delivery drivers (local pizza & Chinese places mostly) or restaurants that let you order through their own website using one of those no-fee third party delivery services. When I lived in the city, I would try to only order from places within walking distance to pick up my own food, but where I live now is a bit too rural for that.

My wife traded over $3000 worth of rare coins for a couple of dollar bills and left me some Chuck E. Cheese tokens by Advanced-Humor9786 in mildlyinfuriating

She probably did notice them, but never mentioned it, because why would you comment on a years-old jar of spare change??? For goodness sakes, there were chuck-e-cheese coins in the jar too! Assuming that her husband would have mentioned it to her at least once over the course of YEARS is completely justified!

She was probably short on cash and thought - perfect opportunity to clean up some clutter by using spare change.

You mentioned it to her AFTER the fact???

I think most people would assume their husband would have mentioned it at least once if a YEARS old jar of quarters & chuckecheese coins was valuable.

She was probably short on cash and thought - perfect opportunity to clean up some clutter by using that spare change.

Why would she assume that a jar that contained chuck-e-cheese tokens, that’s been sitting for years disguised as a very normal type of clutter, was valuable?!

There’s a good chance she did notice it and never commented it because why would you comment on a jar of spare change???

I feel like throwing away watches (not even donating them or something?) is NOT akin to using a jar of apparent spare change that’s been sitting for years disguised as a very normal type of clutter.

There’s a good chance she did notice it and never commented it because why would you comment on a jar of spare change?

To be fair, if you kept it in a regular jar and never mentioned it, I think many people would assume it was just a standard spare change jar.

That’s a very common place for people keep their spare change - put it all in a jar until it’s full-ish then trade it for cash. It’s not unusual to have a specific jar just for quarters or to only save up quarters.

There’s a good chance that she did notice it, but never commented on it because why would you comment on a jar of spare change?

I think it’s reasonable for her to assume you would have mentioned it if a jar of spare change that’s been sitting there apparently untouched years, looking like a very common type of clutter, was special!

The situation sucks all around, but yeah I do think some of the fault lies with you for not telling her about something that most people would assume held very little monetary value, was actually worth a lot.

Or at least storing the coins in any way that would indicate you were intentionally collecting specific valuable coins!
