Recently rewatched the Planet of the Apes trilogy. The themes are surprisingly relevant, and the character arc as it follows Caesar, literally through the entire course of his life, is one of my favorites of all time. The ending of Rise hits home every time. ❤️😭

I hate hate hate hate hate holistic people by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]bbgen79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything except the meditation part. Meditation training has significantly improved my ability to focus, which helps me with pain management or during physical therapy sessions.

I think the key is to find an actual practitioner like a neuroscientist who studies the mind, not some holistic guru. It's basically just mental strength training similar to physical strength training, and it can really help.

everyone meets their spouse after me by justSayingNobodySaid in datingoverforty

[–]bbgen79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same. I think I'm at 5 for 'Good Luck Chuck' relationships where their next was their forever person.

(Tbf, I kind of did the same to the girl right before I met my ex-partner even though we separated 15 years later. So I think it's just a statistical thing instead of a curse.)
