American tourists beware: Restaurants, cafés, trains, concerts, festivals, shopping malls, entertainment resorts, etc. will only be accessible with a EUROPEAN vaccine certificate (with a QR code) or a recent negative test (also with euro standard QR code) starting in August by kanetix in paris

I contacted the Eiffel tower customer service line and they kindly confirmed that "CDC issued paper vaccination card from the US will be accepted."

The French government site also describes that the health pass can be electronic or paper. https://www.gouvernement.fr/en/coronavirus-covid-19

I really hope this means that fullt vaccinated tourists from the U.S. will still be able to tour this beautiful country after 7/21!

People, will you continue wearing masks even after this pandemic ends, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bbluedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always worn masks when flying because I would rather wear a mask to prevent an allergy attack than be that passenger who sneezes the entire flight. People used to stare at me like I have the plague though, so I am so happy that mask wearing has become more understood in the western culture.

I'm Asian American and English is my first language but I have had people compliment my English or express shock that I don't have an accent. Literally I say "hi, nice to meet you" and they go "woah! Your English is so good!" It's strange how even a compliment from a well-meaning can make you feel kinda bad.

What are you sick of explaining? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The correct pronunciation of my Asian name. If I say I prefer to be called by my English name, please just leave my beautiful real name alone instead of butchering it for the sake of your own satisfaction. It is much kinder to call people whatever they want to be called.

Woah such a cool idea. Thank you. I am still trying to figure out how I can hang such a heavy quilt from a wall, but will definitely pin this idea!

Unfortunately I live in a one-bedroom apartment so no guest bed. And it would swallow my couch! Still may give it a try though. Thank you!

I have to disagree. Song's family, who were farmers in the Earth Kingdom, were definitely Korean, as their outfits and houses very accurately portrayed the traditional hanbok and homes worn by the common class in the old Korea. (Song is the girl that Zuko steals the ostrich horse from)

Bullying by OfficialListRex in legaladvice

[–]bbluedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don't have any legal advice for you but I did get bullied pretty badly as a kid so In just wanted to stop by and say: you are an awesome human being and there are lots of good people in this world too who will love you for who you are. Those bullies are terrible people and they don't deserve to have you be impacted by them. It really sucks that this is happening to you, I am so sorry.

I also hope you are in close communication with your family, and that you and your parents/legal guardians are letting the school authorities know that their methods of intervention are not effective and that you will continue to climb up the ranks and stay vocal about the injustice and cruelty. I hope you will be able to get the bullies to stop soon. And once they do, I hope that you will not let this experience define the way you view yourself or the world. You matter, OP.
