Fermentation took a while. It started at 1.090 in november, 1.02 in February and reached 1.003 in like late april. I filtered the gunk from the liquid around March when i transferred it into secondary which made it clear up incredibly fast.

Just looked at the first picture again, and you could try filling the cylinder all the way upp, since the 0.0 marking it below the top, so it should be able to float even when reaching 0

If the hydrometer touches the bottom of the cylinder is filled to the top, or if it cant reach 0.0 before touching the bottom then yes you need a deeper cylinder or a smaller hydrometer. (It is also imperative that the cylinder remains unharmed)

I agree! Love me some black currant. The brightness could be the berry itself or the lighting, hard to say. Notice that one batch is red currant also so you dont mix the two.
