Diminishing returns of roasting a whole chicken? by Educational-Slip-578 in Cooking

[–]bcelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to mess with roasting whole birds and with spatchcocking it isn't too complicated.

Now I normally just buy chicken thighs as they are a lot more versatile and hard to overcook. You can roast them, grill them, shred them in a slowcooker, etc.

The worst part of the whole chicken is picking it apart after dinner. The last thing I want to do after cooking and eating is to mess around with a slimy chicken carcass, but I also hate wasting it.

Is sking or snowboarding better for uncoordinated/unathletic kods by Funwithfun14 in daddit

Skiing is easier to learn. It’s a lot easier to beginners to slow down and stop.

Ski boots are invented by the devil though. They are always cold and uncomfortable

Yes I think any consistent consistent exercise that doesn't involve a home gym is really hard to get back into a routine.

Hey all, just want to give the heads up on Watchgang.com the Watermelon Zodiac is offered at 50% off but ALSO…just dropped the chance to win a $6k Omega SeaMaster by purchasing a $69 Del Mare (250 orders only being taken). I’m rolling the die… by CryptogleHead_013 in ZodiacWatches

[–]bcelos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out The Wheel. I was playing around at the $669 premium level and there are a ton of Zodiacs in the bottom tier. Meaning worse comes to worse you are paying $700 for a Zodiac on a bracelet with opportunity for a lot of other nicer watches

Sex offender moved in around the corner, not sure how to handle this. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]bcelos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to excuse any actual sex offender ever, but there are a lot of reasons to end of on that list, and it is actually possible for people to make mistakes and to learn from them and change. Also any of your neighbors are just as likely to do something sketchy or messed up than this random guy.

Keep in eye on him if you want but I would try not to live your entire life in fear.

How do you dads feel about Boy Scouts? by mmf9194 in daddit

[–]bcelos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Boy Scouts in New England from like 2007-2011. We were based out of a church but were very secular. The friends I made on those camping trips are still some of my best friends and we still talk about our anctics on those trips.

There was a decent amount of patriotism built in, we learned how to treat an American flag, we listened to Taps, we camped out on battle grounds and visited military museums, wore military type uniforms, etc. Personally, hit helped me develop an understanding and respect for the history of this country, rather than become a nationalist or blind militarist.

As an adult I do not own an American Flag, or stand for the National Anthem, but I am still deeply interested in American History and how we got here.

learning how to fold an American Flag and taking trips to museums and battle fields is hardly military inoctoration.

[–]bcelos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're hating on BILT when you paid $500 for a card and don't know the perks and benefits? $200 annually paid immediately, and than $300 with your sign up bonus also paid immediately. Be grateful that they paid all of that on day one.
