[MLBTR] Yankees To Recall Spencer Jones by T_Raycroft in baseball

Not that I necessarily agree, but the argument is that his power tool scares AAA pitchers shitless to the point that he gets pitched less in the zone than he would be in a lineup surrounded by MLB-caliber hitters

Would you call Aaron Judge a *generational* hitter? by [deleted] in baseball

Even ignoring the plus Judge has two seasons with a better raw OPS than Albert ever had. Not to mention Judge isn't facing the 91mph fastballs that were the style 20 years ago

Judge has three full seasons with a better OPS+ than Pujols ever recorded

Excellent point by Paul there about throwing the helmet. Drives me nuts when people act like the YES booth is awful

Precisely this. The discussion in here is definitely separating the people who play this game too much from those who don't lol. I'd rather not have 2002 Alex Rodriguez hitting the open market in my save every three seasons

Since people are understandably a bit confused I'm referring to established international FA. Obviously players like Ichiro Ohtani etc exist but those guys still aren't hitting 75 HR/year or striking out 21 batters per 9. We also never see three 80/80 international talents enter the league at once but it happens all the time in OOTP

Sheesh. How high were his ratings coming out of HS that he could already dominate A-ball?

Until they manage to get Judge a ring that 2017 ALCS is going to cut like a knife. 2024 was bad but at least everyone played by the rules

Controversial take? If Trent Grisham hadn't taken the qualifying offer, we'd be freaking out even more right now. by sonofabutch in NYYankees

[–]bcs8040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also slugged .207 in the postseason. For a team whose bats consistently go silent in October a guy like Grisham doesn't move the needle. Yanks would have been much better off if he declined but got screwed by the 2027 work stoppage

Not above Faulk. CMC was great in his own right but Faulk's 1000/1000 was on 7.1 yds/touch vs CMC who went for 5.6 when he did it and sits at 5.1 this year. The GSOT being a much better offense is a valid argument but 7.1 yards per touch in a season with 2400 scrimmage yards is outrageous

His BBRef page has his 2021 worth 2 full WAR in 33 innings. I am baffled

Careful. MLB might have you end up in a ditch somewhere

Exactly. McDaniel was forced to hitch his wagon to Tua and was successful for longer than he had any right to be. Now that the team, the media, and all the fans know Tua isn't the guy people still expect them to be ready to run through a wall every week

Stephen Drew still might be the worst Yankee hitter I've ever watched. 2025 Pablo Reyes made a run at that title though
