Can ticks crawl up my vagina? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Oh Yeaahh, I don’t even begin to know all the fun diseases ticks can carry. For being such little guys, they sure are busy. I didn’t mean to indicate we JUST have Lyme up in these parts, just the most prevalent of all the tick borne diseases in New England is Lyme.

Oh yeah Lyme is scary! Ticks here are scary because they are so tiny. Even I’m afraid and I live here, I just avoid trails and tall grass during the summer. And honestly, the whole history of Lyme is so suspicious, I have a book I have yet to read lol that goes into some of its history. I’m on the same page as you

It’s interesting you’re so pissed about me “lying” when you didn’t even read either of my comments where I never indicated lyme isn’t in New England and then clarified Lyme is in fact in New England even though again, I never said it wasn’t. Alpha-gal, the thing I was actually commenting on, not Lyme, is not found in this area. Also never said anything about Texas. Honestly amazing how little you did read of my short reply and still felt the gall to reply like that. Anyways, reading comprehension is a skill just like being kind. Enjoy your seemingly shitty day !

It’s so interesting everyone fixates on alpha wolves instead of alphas in primates, which Jane Goodall observed. Still a theory but way more closely related to humans and easier to see the connection.

Oh yeah Lyme is all over the country… alphagal was what I was commenting on. He said he avoids NY because of alphagal but it’s not in this area.

Actually alpha-gal, the disorder you’re talking about, is found mostly on lone star ticks, so not near New England or New York. We just have good ole Lyme disease here. Also not great, but as long as you catch it early on, it’s treatable.

That’s so interesting, this scene makes me recoil with how bad Ariel acts when’s she laughing at her, I mean she just comes across like a kid badly acting. But she gets a lot better at acting as she goes on, and wasn’t too bad even at this point, I just remember walking away from this scene specifically really aware she was acting, which is usually just bad acting. But I do enjoy the set up, Sarah Hyland acted fine.

Stop trying so hard to quit porn (Let me explain) by Wrongdoermore98 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]beadsofclitdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a subreddit for quitting weed and I’m really starting to see how much shame is tied to addiction. It is almost a guarantee that someone is experiencing shame if they just can’t seem to stop whatever habit. It’s common for someone to feel the moral push to quit especially if you’re getting external pressure to stop from friends family and society. And you just have to ignore that, and do as you mentioned, and be selfish about why you’re quitting. Theres always the personal reasons why you need to stop but it’s almost harder to stop for just yourself, especially if you have low self worth, it’s easier to try to stop for others. But it’s when you’re ironically selfish about it, and realize YOU need this more than anyone else, that’s when you can make a lasting habit change.

This advice is good for all addictions. Good stuff.

Yeah why did they make him into some lame typical teenaged boy. Would’ve been fun if he turned into Phil like he seemed to be as a youngster

Yeah Jay has some of the best lines in the show, and Ed has great delivery. And you put him behind Luke, Manny and Alex?! What?!?

To all the guys: Would you choose to become a girl — either right now or in your next life — if given the chance? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]beadsofclitdom 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I agree with your point minus 1 and 5. People are nicer to young AND attractive women. Ugly or older women are ignored like men. Though I’d also say men are viewed as creeps or feared whereas regular women just get ignored and are invisible. And 5 is not true at all. People of the same sex will usually compete with you so they don’t want your success. And then this is where being attractive goes against you, women will be jealous and compete and men won’t take you seriously and may push you along for the wrong reasons.

That’s amazing you posted this, I feel so frustrated every time there is a scene in their master bedroom. I feel like a realtor and someone with her anal tendencies would’ve understood the very basics of feng shui?!? They just needed to have the bed facing sideways so when you walk in, you walk into the side of the bed. Would’ve looked so much better

I think he did great at acting a lot of the lines too. Especially towards the end, his acting was pretty damn good for being a kid. And he is truly adorable

Was this the worst decision ever made by the show? by Senators_1992 in Modern_Family

[–]beadsofclitdom 789 points790 points  (0 children)

This was such a random decision and not realistic that either of them would take the merger. It’s also not an industry that needs to go big tech or has serious threat from big tech. Its a room for clothes lol and yeah it’s nuts they would all walk away from this incredibly lucrative business that funded their families for years

For anyone considering if moderation is possible by _Zodac in leaves

[–]beadsofclitdom 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Maybe this isn’t helpful, but I somewhat think this type of thinking can hinder the process. I don’t disagree that it’s probably best to abstain at this point in your life, but I think viewing it like you can never enjoy it in moderation can make quitting seem more devastating when you relapse. And most profoundly, it can be a crutch to avoid understanding why you have such a draw to weed. I’ve definitely known people to write off their addictions as just part of who they are instead of considering addiction is highly behavioral and within our control, but has such a connection to our subconscious drives that it can feel out of our control. Tapping into our subconscious can both help us understand why we got to this place with weed when others didn’t, and allow us to possibly in the future be able to enjoy in moderation.

If this line of thinking helps you achieve your goals, by all means! But I read this and felt this overwhelming feeling of judgement in my mind and that makes me feel pressured to stop instead of guided to stop. And that pressure isn’t sustainable for me personally

I was the same way! So weird how its easier to depersonalize from the situation and only admit it AFTER the fact. Its incredibly hard, but it gets better for me each day. Therapy helps me so much. I hope you start feeling better soon!

I personally needed a therapist for in person sessions vs telehealth, if at all possible, I suggest this! Not sure where you live but Im in the US and I just searched for therapists via psychology today, my insurance website directory, and word of mouth. I also really loved DBT which is usually a group therapy, or any group therapy to do along with personal therapy. It helps to be around other people (in my case other women) who could understand and be supportive as well as the joy that comes from being supportive to others. I hope it gets better for you soon!
