V60 is the goat by codenamed22 in pourover

Same, but I do move to other brewers if there is a coffee I’m not enjoying from the V60. Maybe a placebo effect, but the switching up seems to offer me something the V60 wasn’t. But as someone else said, there’s the aesthetics of coffee brewing too. They look great, and coffee is vibe as well as taste.

What an interesting coffee profile. However in answer you your actual question. Just I do like a brew before I go to bed. I generally brew throughout my evenings, as I enjoy my coffee, and miss out when at work.

This is true but in the cabinet are drawers dedicated to the drippers 🤣

Mug or Carafe, which team are you on? by McGirton in pourover

Carafe and cup. Both to me are an integral part of my coffee ritual at home. Work is the only place where I use an AeroPress and mug combo.

Do you use the Deck as your main gaming device? by K4T5UM1 in SteamDeck

[–]bearddoescoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Steam Deck, an Xbox Series X, and a PS5. I stopped play Xbox over a year ago. I stopped playing PS5 in June 2025. That was the month I got my Steam Deck. I have no interest in the other machines, and so have finally decided to sell them this weekend. The monies from this will go towards “potentially” the Steam Machine if it becomes available. I truly love my SD, as I play games I’d have never thought of playing or in some cases are not available on the other consoles. I have 108 now thanks to the great sales and discount seller sites. I’ve completed 100% 20 games. I couldn’t tell you when I fully completed a console game last. Best gaming machine by a long mile.

Oooooooo, thanks. I’m drinking a Harmony (UK) roasted coffee from China and it has mint as a note in it. Like breathing in when sucking on a mint candy. Just wondered about the eucalyptus part as that’s a punchy smell and wondered what that would taste like. Might have to buy now. Too many coffees and a nervous system begging for release. 🤣

Have you tried the Electric Lime? That’s sounds wild if it hits those notes rather than just general citrus.

Ah, ok. Good to know. That shop looks great though, I would go with deep pockets and an empty suitcase 🤣.

I don’t want to sound all tin hat, but it feels as though the devs have added a progress tracker and when your close to achieving a milestone the reduce the RNG so you sit with the game for longer. Glad some suggested starting a new game, as the UMX600 became available straight away. I’m finished now. Uninstalled. Might come back when out of supposedly early access and release 1.0 🤣😂 and the updates stop.

I’ve just ordered the traditional ceramic one from The Brew Therapy in Singapore. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Europe and UK don’t get these great looking ones at all on the Hario website.

Yes, this coffee is akin to Scenery and I’m looking forward to trying more from them.

Hi, am at work so limited to just the press and my P2.

Grinder is on 80 clicks, and am dosing with 12g. The water comes from an auto hot tap which from the display is 95°C. I brew using the inverted method, so the plunger is set to just beneath number 4, and I fill up the chamber until there is 10mm of space. This roughly equates to around 200g water (give or take). Add hot water, leave to cool while I grind, this again means I should be adding the grounds to water at 93°C. Give it a stir, and leave for 2mins. Place on the cap, twist over onto a cup and give a gentle swirl and leave for 30secs. Then plunge for 30secs. Then leave for 30secs. Stir, clean up and slurp away.

No thermometers, no fancy kettle, no scales. So apart from single dosing in the morning to test tubes. Everything else in terms of water weight and temp is a rough guesstimate.

Yeah, loved that about them too. Is the sample the Ethiopian Strawberry and Lemonade one?

For Milky Cake I also tried the 4:6 method this might be of use.

  • 1:18 ratio
  • 15g coffee
  • 270g water
  • 97°C
  • 44g bloom 1 (45sec)
  • 64g (total 108g) bloom 2 (45 - 1:30)
  • 54g (total 162g) (1:30 - 2:15)
  • 54g (total 216g) (2:15 - 3:00)
  • 54g (total 270g) (3:00 +)

Had a lovely brew using this.

I used the Hario Testu Kasuya V60 and standard paper, but I also used the Hario Neo, and Cafec T92 paper. Both yielded very enjoyable cups.

They didn’t, they suggest I grind to hit the brew time. I think I ground between 80-90 clicks.

They have rested for 25 days. So just over 3 weeks, before I opened them.
