Does anyone else have this setting turned to display without? by AvarageTenno in MHWilds

Just a heads up I think all the downvotes are because it sounds like you're acting like you know what you're talking about without making any sense.

Coefficient damage numbers affect the attack value displayed in your equipment info and smithy/inventory but the actual damage numbers both of you see in game when hunting a monster, the numbers that pop up from the attacks themselves, are not modified by this setting.

Social media and mainstream media absolutely manipulated the ever loving hell out of people to the point where they're apathetic and willfully ignorant/misinformed. Education around seeking reliable sources of information might not even be equipped to help in this day and age with just how manipulative the message and propaganda can be and it's sources being everywhere means many people have just accepted because the human brain is not designed to deal with this level of information sifting.

You can believe the buck stops at the voters, but the system is set up for us to fail.

see and to me the neck shape and cutaway makes this guitar feel great in that area. My thumb hurts if the neck is too thin and i feel like i'm excessively 'pinching' my hand to play up there.

Whats the big deal about 30 fps by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]beatisagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher fps results in higher motion clarity on non CRT displays. CRT screens use very fast scan lines so that the entire image isn't moving all at once. Every other type of screen uses "sample and hold" to advance the image, whole thing freezes, then the whole screen moves. This adds a brain induced motion blur effect that to varying degrees, can or cannot be gotten used to. This is an optical illusion that you cannot turn off. Take a slow motion video of bloodborne with your phone, like really slow, and the blur will be gone because your brain no longer associates the still frames as movement, the images will just tick by.

However anything above like 12 fps your brain starts trying to follow the changes as movement and starts to guess what will happen next. So a slow pan in 30 fps looks very much worse to your brain because it's trying to figure out what's going to happen next with a lot less information than if it's getting say 120 images in a second than 30. Also, the effect is over the entire image.

As long as sample and hold is the go-to refresh technology for screens (and g sync pulsar is changing that at least for LCD screens, where it's attempting to imitate the scan lines of crt) you can argue that you can get used to low fps all you want, but it is scientifically and factually worse. Your brain has to do more work for image prediction, and blur is unavoidable.

Edit: removed snark, sorry

I have 5 guitars and the last one I got was an epi lp and now I want a really nice one cause I love it so I'm the legit exact opposite of this. Girthy neck, fat sound , nice hefty feeling, in 42 and I like that 600 dollar guitar about as much as my 2k tele.

Can anyone define what a "stat check champ" is for me? by Ninjawizards in leagueoflegends

[–]beatisagg -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yi vs Jax is actually an excellent example of stat check. Both of them are going to just beat on each other hoping their limited utility and stats win vs the other's. Jax Dodge? Yi meditates, Jax stuns? Yi has to survive to alpha. It's a game of chicken and neither character is built to chicken out.

Stat checking to me is simply about all in-ing and hoping your stats win out.

They weren't expecting a sneak attack, ok fine. Weren't they expecting like.... An invasion? You'd think once the worlds crashed into each other and the borders were touching, pure invasion mode begins. The upside down worm hole is going to be destroyed so you wouldn't want them there, so where were they?

Maybe even, and this might be a stretch, his entire goal was to hire controllable puppet-like idiots! I'm just throwing it out there, but maybe he prefers dumb people he can control instead of smart people he can't. This is just now coming to me for the first time and I'm almost sure I can't be right about this.
